I have noticed that there is little defensive equipment for high slots in ships. There is cloaking device and then nothing. Could it be possible to get some defensive equipment for high slots. I have no idea what kind of equipment would fit there. Perhaps people have idea what would fit in high slot and be defensive.

I was just going to mention cloaks, smartbombs, neuts/nos, and defender missiles... Let's see, what else is there...
Well I suppose technically bombs could be used to defend against stuff like smartbombs are...And there's drone mods as well, since drones can be sent to defend...What about auto-targeters?

If you want to get really technical, any turret or launcher can be considered defensive. What better way to defend yourself then to blow up the threat. |

If anything, then that, agreed. Since defender missiles are pretty useless versus small projectiles... auto point defense would be better. Maybe a decoy or echo device that dublicates the ships signature...
...but I don't think more defensive systems are needed. *shrugs*

Yes fix defender missiles but what about other weapons systems (lasers/projectile/hybrids), shouldn't there be something equivalent, or just leave it inoperable as it is. |

Realistically? It's pretty tricky actually.
In space, the best counter for projectiles and missiles would be extremely fast tracking lasers, but only useful at extreme ranges (beyond EVE engagement ranges) where the PDS has time to track and fire before impact..
The best counter for lasers could be a cloud of reflective particles that cause dispersion, I guess. Something like a ninja smokebomb.
Hybrid counters are tricky. I've no idea what could counter the fictional plasma balls of hybrids, and railgun shots simply move too fast to counter even with lasers. |
