Everybody who use overload knows that. The small curved green tube are too narrow to click especially when you are in combat.
It's not the first time I deactived my MWD for I tried to overload it.
Now I just right click and overload buttons in the menu but it's not really convenient.
Just try another design please CCP?
Thank you very much.

Edited by: Corporal Punishment08 on 24/01/2011 19:04:53 Edited by: Corporal Punishment08 on 24/01/2011 19:02:56 You could try the overload rack button.
Edit: also, it's not too hard to click quickly. And you have the time of the whole cycle to click the overload button before you really have to worry. That's quite a bit of time for most modules that you would overheat.

Confirming that I use overload and was not asked by this gentleman whether or not the overload button is too hard to click quickly. Fake poll results are fake.

its not that hard. Im glad the button is not too big, clicking the overload all the time by accident would annoy me much more, since the overload is not the regular state of modules.

No he's right and module state is unclear too. It's not even funny.

When the green portion is lit up, your module is overheated.

while i do agree with the OP, I personally clicked overload while trying to deactivate the mod :P
I think the best solution would be to introduce a shortcut in the type of shift + left click on the mod you wish to overload.

Set a shortcut.

no, I will not set 5 different shortcuts. I will either click that green tiny button or use a single "hold this button" + left click on the mod i wish to overload. Much more intuitive during high speed fights, I actually activate/deactivate mods using the mouse, not 1-8 and their alt/ctrl alternatives.... what if I accidentally deactivate my point and he runs away and calls me a noob pirate? I can't have that.

I just got the overload status locked, as I find it more annoying that you hardly can see if you are overheating a module or not and I burned out my modules already to many times.
I agree that the UI on this part could use a small makeover. ---------------------------------- None of yet! |

I'd quite like to:-
Have a YELLOW arc meaning "Yes, I'll overload before the start of the next auto cycle" Have a FLASHING YELLOW arc meaning "Yes, I'll stop overloading at the end of this cycle"
Also maybe hold down Alt-Left Click to toggle the overload when clicking the whole module instead of toggling the module action. (It may already do this, but I can't find it, I suck sometimes)

Sorry I posted this topic in anger didn't check the words
But anyway overheating the rack is never a real solution: It's more likely to be a temporary fix which cause unexpected result: I didn't meant to overheat the whole rack.
Maybe I have to admit I'm not very good at handling my cursor with excellent accuracy, especailly when in combat you need to watch many things at the same time. Can CCP please make the UI more friendly?

I support this. Id like double click on the module to be overheat/stop overheat.
