Like it says, go to activate strip miner/harvester get a popup if permission not granted because faction standings aren't high enough. All characters could mine with civilian equipment to help NPE; Maybe tweak an anchoring type formula so that even 1.0 systems are available?
This would probably have the biggest effect in reducing the ice mining blobs. Would also encourage new players to round off their earlier experience of the game in order to get the benefit of higher standings.
Any thoughts?? |

I kind of thought it was a good idea. Why no? I have deleted and cleared my signature 7 times and it still won't go away. |

It would force people to play the game in a certain way just to be able to play it the way they want.
If I want to be an industrial pilot, then why should I run missions to grind up rep?
Also, what about Noobs in their noob ships who get missions to mine?
Furthermore, the effort required for reward would be out of whack. You would have to grind tons of rep to get to be able to mine in high sec just to mine the worst ore...
So yea, your idea is very bad. |

The formula used for mining standings would limit where a certain play style could happen rather than prevent it altogether. Mining missions could include a pass from the agent allowing a certain amount of ore from a particular system. Effort required depends entirely on the formula used - perhaps it could be relatively easy to mine in 0.5 systems?? |

you are trying to reduce ice mining blobs, everyone ice mining is afk you can either A remove Ice all together or B make ice mining fun in some way. grinding standings is already notorious in eve for being one of the most annoying things you can do.. |

AHA!
So you want all of the reward for mining in Null Sec and none of the risk?
I get it now.
You already have high standing, and you want to be able to make boat loads of ISK by mining ABC ores in high sec and keep the prices from skyrocketing by preventing new players from mining there too...
Your idea is incredibad. |

Mining has always been its own thing. You can just start doing it. All you need is a ship, a turret slot, and a mining laser. This takes away from that, forcing missions on people who don't like them.
Now, just to be clear, I think this is a good idea, I just don't like the affects. Even if there was reserved space for miners in good standing, that would go against mining philosophy. |

Lol no, I'm all for having grav sites in hisec have 0.0 security status. Sadly my standings and number of alts have serious issues so it doesn't apply favorably to me at the minute. Thanks for starting to discuss & the use of incredibad - any suggestions from you to shake things up a bit? |

My suggestion would be to give all space a chance of having some ABC ores, make asteroids have some mixture of ores and require some ACTIVE mining to get the good stuff out.
Then boost the heck out of low sec, and make null sec so profitable that people risk Skiffs through gate camps to get at it.
Arbitrary restrictions to prevent people with low standing from mining in high sec is ham fisted and poor game design. |

Looks like Active mining is on the way this winter with ring mining?

The way I see it, restrictions that nerf freeloader parts of hisec serve as a boost to lowsec. |

That's an interesting idea.. but I don't think there is any way you can create enough value in Nullsec to get people to risk Skiffs in gatecamps without destroying the economy. I think near the whole of Null is mining these days with the GSF blockade on Highsec mining.
Maybe I'm the only one that noticed the Highsec minerals are the ones that are 2-4 times their proper values and Nullsec ores is incredibly cheap. Next to worthless in fact, when compared to its value before all this.
I'm only speculating of course, based on my watching the Megacyte market drop to well below normal levels. I know it hasn't changed in usefulness, and I know it is a Null miner picking it up, so it must be very plentiful. Plentiful means someone is mining it.
On the other hand, the Trit, and various Highsecs are stupidly expensive, as are some of the High-lows and I'm pretty sure at least some of the other Nulls are rock bottom to, though I haven't done a true comparison, and I know it doesn't balance out exactly accross the board. Close enough, and we know all people really like to mine are ABC's given the choice. I have deleted and cleared my signature 7 times and it still won't go away. |

That's a common misconception.
People who think gatecamps are **** will still think gatecamps are **** regardless of what happens to High-sec.
I can't believe how many people are stupid enough to believe a nerf to High-sec will "boost" Low-sec. It is ********.
You know what would be a boost to Low-sec?
An actual boost to Low-sec! Space. It seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you. |

Faction standings can be paid for. what does a bot care about another few isk in start up given the daily income. |
