Is anyone else experiencing constant disconnects or is it just me? I keep getting booted to the login screen for some reason, its getting rather annoying.. happens every 20 minuts or so.

Admiral I used to get this all the time even my corp mates were getting annoyed for me. But my laptop had an fit 2 days ago so I finally went out and bought a new tower. I know its drastic but at least it may give u an idea of what is happening. My Laptop although very very good only had a 64mb graphics card. The new tower has stopped all my disconnect problems and sorted out a lot of lag for me. The major changes for me were new ADSL USB 2 Modem new graphics card these and a little faster processor. I have a feeling its to do with processor or graphics load. Ever time i had to do some major rendering that was when i got dumped off the client. I know this wont help you but gives u my experiances and what happened when i changed to a new system. I really really hope u get your problems sorted i was annoyed to hell and back on some evenings.

I forgot to mention that i can play games like world of warcraft and counter strike:source for several hours without getting disconnected/crashed or even slight lag. I have an 8/1mbit connection. I have no idea why the game boots me all the time but if it continus ill have no choice but to cancel my subscription.

Dlink routers used to do this often - I dont know if this was ever fixed. Just a thought.

Never had this happen to me before. But today has been fairly bad. About 10 minutes into the game and I drop out. I'm on about...my 6th re-connect when I log back in.
Is WHERE you are relevant in these matters. There seemed to be some large-scale operations going on in Norther Caldari space today (Just from what I've heard, that could be wrong) so perhaps that area is "stressed" if you get me. Just in the same way VV-VCR was "stressed" yesterday or whenever when the large battle there crashed the node (And previously in VVC with the other less-hardcore node crash). And obviously, lots of other places where this is repeated.
Hope there's some kind of feasible solution that the Devs can work out. I mean, I'd personally up my subscription somewhat if it directly resulted and guaranteed better server stability.
That's of course, assuming it IS the server, which I think is relatively safe to assume in most cases.

I've had this happen a few times over the last few weeks, and where your chars are in the eve universe doesn't seem to make a difference to it. I've had my 2 chars sitting right next to each other in a belt, and one gets kicked, the other carries on as if nothing has happened.
So if it is the server, it's not the Sol nodes. Could be the traffic balancing/routing front-end nodes though...or a router in CCP's provider's uplink.

I too have been getting ALOT of disconects ever since CCP did that extended down time on the 21st for :routine maintenance".
This is the FIRST time I have had more than 3 disconnects in a 30 minute period since playing EVE..... over 1 and 1/2 years now!!!
Someone got a little to zealous with the maintenance.... I bet they forgot to plug some of the nodes back in, would not be the first time CCP did that

same here up until last week i never had problems but since last week not only having disconnects but some very hairy lag spike moments also

Yep...Having a lot of crashes/disconnection recently.
Too much IMHO. I've checked with my provider and other online games, and definitely it's or an Eve client problem or a server side problem.
My connection works perfectly for anything, but Eve crashes...Often...Almost each 10 minutes.
Is there something going on CCP? Can you have a look at these issues?

Yeah I got serious problems with EVE's stability since Exodus "patch". Most of the time when I undock a station I crash (didn't happened before).
And I get random crashes and CTDs, and the game just says "connection with server lost" but my internet connection is just fine.
When I play other massive multiplayer games like wow I don't get kicked out each 10min-1 hour. Very annoying. |

I run 2 accounts also, and have also had one account suddenly crash, while the other has no problems and both characters are sitting in the same system.
Prior to Shiva, I NEVER EVER had any crashing on either account. Plus there is definitely more lag in Shiva for 2 accounts than there was prior to Shiva.
To me it sounds much like the net coding for the game could be a bit buggy. But on the whole considering the complexities of this game it is still very playable and enjoyable.
Just with the bugs still running around since the expansion can at times get a bit annoying.

Phew, im glad im not the only one having this problem. I already petitioned it but i think its better if we all do it.
Since im not ready to loose my ship to inevitable disconnect, im just not playing until it gets fixed, a serious hinderance to my gameplay in other words.
Hoping for an official response on this issue.

Same probs here too, before Exodus,didnt happen, since, well, lets just say humour is vanishing rapidly. Constant connection losses, fed up not getting mission bonus' all the time coz of it.. |

Anyone else get total machine freeze ??
It happens daily and only in EVE. Its almost a pattern that I will start playing EVE and after approx 40 - 60 mins my screen will freeze and my mouse and keyboard will be totally unrepsonsive. I have to reset my PC via the off switch and restart.
Once restarted I will get message saying system recovered from crash and will mention Graphics drivers/hardware.
I will then re-open EVE and be able to play for rest of evening with no more freezes.
Its only been happening in the last month (since last patch)
So HMV consider Andy Williams and Dean Martin to be "easy listening" do they? Tell that to my mate Dave, he's been deaf for 20 years.

Oh yeah I filed a bug report long ago when I had 5 CTDs in one hour. 
I hope Devs will fix that very soon (and without tm); because adding new ships is just great, but not balancing/fixing current issues is really not.
It's like trying to build a house on a swamp; good luck with that (ok Venise was but it's slowly collapsing in the sea atm  ) |

They said I was daft for building a castle on a swamp..but I built one anyway! It sank into the swamp. So I built another one! That one sank into the swamp. I built a third one; that one burned down, fell over and then sank into the swamp..but the last one stayed up!

Hey guys, I'm totaly new to EvE...just installed it last night, and I was getting the same issues, even while creating my chr the system rebooted..I would exit space dock and it would drop me to the desk top...over and over..
This is what I did. I have an ATI video card, downloaded the newest driver(and i was playing just fine in DAoC and WoW). That fixed my probelm. Perhaps with the new patch they upgraded or changed something in the graphics engine.
Like I said, just installed last night so not sure if my issue is the same as yours but one more thing to try.
EDIT: Bah!! Worked well for a day then started happening again. >GRRRR<

Do you guys get disconnected when idling? Usually i dont, its when i do something specific as for example opening the market tab or locking someone or shooting a missile etc.

kinda the same problem - idle in a station get food/make drink. Then when I undock I ctd.
Machine wise I'm a tower with voyager dsl modem.
In total ignorance - are station transactions dealt with one part of the tq, with space being dealt by another? COuld it be a problem with the hand over?

Got the same problem Colin has.
A little time afk in a station, after the usual mining, checking skill, chating etc.
Go to undock and poof, computer freezes. Have to re-boot my comp and log back in.
I hope some of these glitches might be addressed int he upcoming patch.

oh yeah undocking CTD/crash (depends on which PC I'm playing with) is a true pain. Sometime I crash when I warp too. Never when staying idle. |

Last nite I did crash 2 times on loading char. Later on got a BSOD on warping thru a more or less empty system. Never ever had this happen before, never had a bluescreen on this rig, its running rock stable. Its impossible that its caused by malfing hw.
I really wonder, what did ccp change during that long maintenance session?
... I want dessert - where is my Overlord?

If you guys are using Linksys routers, check the DHCP lease setting. I was messing with mine and accidently set it to renew every 10 mins. Kept getting dropped until I changed it while my computer reaquired an IP. Shouldn't lose connectivity usually but Linksys seems a little buggy when it come to DHCP. You should also check with your ISP, perhaps they require a short DHCP lease time, requiring you to renew and drop your eve connection. Then again, this could all just be smoke up your *ss.
