Hello there,
I've got a nasty problem. I can't get to the login screen. Reinstalled XP yesterday, and now the game doesn't work anymore. I've got the game on a different partition, so tried it out just to start it. Failed. Deinstalled Eve, dl'ed client, fresh installation. Failed. Formated /c:, fresh XP installation, tried game. Failed. Once again dl'd client, new installation. Failed. All I see is this incursion picture an then the process gets terminated. Game did run for at least three years on this system witout any problems.

Ensure that the DirectX is installed correctly. EVE provides a DirectX installer in CCP/EVE/bin/DirectX. ------------------------------------- The system issues man. |

Doesn't work, neither does installing the latest C++ redistributable package from Microsoft for most people.

Thanks for the link, but somehow that doesn't fit to my issue. I don't have a P3, and my game worked well after applying the patch. Just now after fresh XP installation the game doesn't start. Filed a petition, but still waiting for an answer. Tried directX update and what no, but still doesn't work for.

Try deleting all the *.cache files in the bulkdata folder.
If you did a copy/paste type operation instead of downloading and installing the clients fresh all those cache files are "corupt" and your client won't start after the splash screan disapears, even thought you will see it sitting in the processes list.

I have the same exact problem: fresh install of XP, up-to-date drivers and updates, but still no dice. ------> Om Nom Nom |
