Lately PVP action has gone down a little for me. So I figured I'd start this thread to maybe get a bit of perspective on the situation.
Personally I like PVP and I like high sec. I know there are those of you that say I need to go to low or null or FW or RvB and thatGÇÖs all fair. ItGÇÖs a sandbox and we all play a different game. I donGÇÖt judge you for that what you like to do so donGÇÖt give any of those things as a reply and respect what I like to do please.
That said IGÇÖd like to ask if anyone is aware of a place in high sec where this happens frequently. Besides the trade hubs like Jita and Dodixie. Personally I fly around in Essence and mainly in Algogille.
And I welcome anyone to come down there for a fair 1vs1 with me or any of my corp mates. You can check my/our killboard for the fact that most of my/our kills are solo and youGÇÖll never be able to find someone that says I/we donGÇÖt honor my 1vs1s cause I/we do.
The main thing IGÇÖd like to add to this thread is that I enjoy flying bigger things than a frigate. If you come in a Cruiser IGÇÖll give you a Cruiser 1vs1 or if you come in a Battleship IGÇÖll give you a Battleship 1vs1. Or any of the other classes in between or even T2s.
Or if your account is a lot younger than mine I am fine with flying a ship class lower than you. Cruiser vs Battlecruiser for instance. Or 2vs1 or 3vs1 is fine with me as well if the party that has more than one ship in the battle is in smaller ships. Example 3 frigs vs 1 cruiser.
I like flying all sorts of ships and have the ISK to lose one once in a while. IGÇÖm sure IGÇÖm not the only oneGǪ
So if you have any tips or suggestions let me know, or if you want a nice 1vs1 just send me an EVEmail or just show up in Algogille

I know i've flown through some systems where people were talking about the system being a fair 1v1 system. Couldn't tell you where it was though. I'd think it'd be pretty hard to enforce in high sec though, unless you're willing to suicide gank people messing up the system.

Just like anything else reputation will be key, a small cornerstone of people that have the reputation to always honor their 1vs1 is enough to make a system credible.
Plus I really donGÇÖt mind keeping some sort of list of people that didnGÇÖt honor theirs. This way as a whole group of honest 1vs1 players you can only get hurt by someone once. |

1v1 is a bit of a difficult zone, the main issue I normally see is the neutral logistics ships doing repairs during a fight which I disagree with. With the many tricks that one can pull in a high security situation, and many of the pilots that like to prey on targets they see as easy to trap I personally choose to go into low or null. 1v1's are not as common in null as they are in lowsec, but in either situation it is a matter of paying attention to who you are fighting and who is in system with or around you.
One thing that I expect of all of my guys is that if a 1v1 challenge is explicitly agreed to they must see it through to the death of their ship or the enemies ship. On that note we do keep track of players who do not honor an agreement as well, keeping a list of players who break agreements like this is a great way to find out who is going to cross (often like minds associate so I would keep track of killboards of agreement breakers) and who may want to come back later for some extra fun.
One way that you could attempt to enforce a system like this is to start a community style like they do for other activities like incursions. Set up a channel, advertise it, keep a running black list, and if it catches on it can be a spot people can use to set up honorable 1v1 engagement. Would also be a good way of creating mini tournaments that could be open to players from any corp or alliance.
Any how just some ideas that come to mind while I'm sitting here not doing much and wondering why I'm not in bed yet lol.
Cheers, Ambe |

Thanks Ambedrake, a Channel was indeed one of the first things I'd like to start with. Unwanted reps can be avoided by having the fight in different places each time. Different belt/planet/customs office etc.
And thanks too Dan Carter Murray for the totally useless answer that I already dismissed in my original post. I know there are other things and ways out there. This is about my way not yours. |
