Just for those who care, which probably isn't many, there appears to have been an unannounced change to the camera focus on new portraits that was noticed yesterday.
Essentially, max zoom minus one now focuses higher on the head and you don't get to see as much of the neck. If you have a close up, and are showing your neck, you may have a unique portrait. Was this to reduce the down cleavage shots? We may never know... |

Edited by: Eura Sukor on 28/01/2011 15:31:47 Holding both mouse buttons and moving the mouse up and down allows you to achieve any zoom level you want. Also, you can reposition your body anywhere in the frame by clicking and dragging. So.... no.

I see, you can left click. Fair enough, but it still doesn't change the fact that the default value is slightly higher on the face. Thanks for the information (edited to say thanks for the info.) |

Yea, camera positioning is a bit lacking. Once you zoom in, it's hard to pan up and down.
Just zoom out to max, select a different pose to reset the camera, and zoom again once again. This how I effectively panned to the position I wanted.

Been playing with the portrait creator for an hour or so. I think there was also a change to the zoom ratio. These changes are not an issue for 99.9978% of the players, but for someone who wants an indentical portrait from one character to the next, pre-patch and post-patch, well, yeah, it is an issue. |

I had the repositioning problem at first, but switching between preset poses enabled me to move my char further up the frame again. |

I have noticed this too, and it's now impossible to recreate the same pose for this character without the forehead taking up the entire top half of the picture.

Did CCP eat your avatar?
I wish they'd put the goddamned changes in the goddamned patch notes. And stop p*** around with the goddamned portraits.
I really don't want to have to do it AGAIN but since I now look like a Ghoul, I guess there's not much to be done..
*sigh

The thing is. I am sick of it. As in tired of doing it, settling on it then having to update it again.
I predict this is going to happen repeatedly from now on ..
Which is just going to get really irritating tbh. As much as I enjoyed it the first three times like.

I don't think you are forced to recustomise your character, but given the option to do so.

Flawless logic. I'll remember that one the next time there's an 'optional' patch that removes your entire face.

I don't get it, i've suffered no face removal, but given the option to change up my avatar is nice after seeing how many people Use this hairtsyle on Babes of New Eden =S
Nonetheless, i've been playing around with my character a bit, wanted to know what you guys thought while i'm in the editor. I decided to tack on a level of aging and go with a looser hairstyle for a little more character.

Basically I hijacked the thread to rage about something that appears to only be a problem effecting me.
I think therefore you are safe. As long as you don't have any open wounds.

I noticed that if you enter the portrait screen the FIRST time it looks normal, but if you go back to the sculpuring screen and then to the portrait screen again, it seems that the camera angle has changed.

She's starting to remind me of that girl from Titan A.E. but with more Red.. It's not a bad thing, heh
Your current one looks better tbh. The new one looks like it needs 2 bars to inflate those lips.

I really like how you put that. I'm glad I'm not the only person to notice it. I had a petition in to change the hair color (was one shade off), but was told to wait until Friday, but now I can have the hair color, but not the shot I like best. |

The lips are fashioned in such a way to bring the best out of the thumbnail. Check it Out They don't look the best in the big picture, but on the little thumbnails it's overall pretty good.
