you can't defend "your side" because most of "your side" has alts in minmatar anyway, to farm, only logging into their amarr alts to pvp.

OP is correct.
One member of -A- multiboxes Minmatar farmers (least two of 'em) and a Daredevil main that patrols around and kills anyone who harasses them. The first time his Daredevil warped in, I warped out - then said, duh, I should've stayed and killed the Incursus with him, since it was tanking me completely. The second time he warped in, he attacked me, I said "just kill the carebear" in local, and then... it didn't seem that he did kill the Incursus. Huh. It must've gotten away. The third time he entered the system and warped directly to his alt that I had pointed, I'd connected the dots - but I was finally able to kill the damn thing with a neuting Tormentor before he killed me.
So there are many ways to work your Minmatar FW alts.
Tormentor: two neuts, 1 gatling laser, 2 hobgoblins, web. That's enough. Carebear FW Incursi won't be using cap charges, and they don't have guns, so you just need to break their capacitor to kill them. |

If I tried to make a type of coffee that made all of you happy, and you rated it, the group score for it would be about 60 out of 100. For those that are unsure of what is happening here, read one of the out of game blogs. (my apologies if I get this wrong, but I think it was Jester's Trek)
It indicates that a 5 day alt in a weaponless frig can make the "equivalent" of 300M / hour in LP. Now, that LP is meaningless until cashed in, but the guy was indeed cashing it in making gobs and gobs of ISK when he sold items he bought with all that LP.
I think the example was Fleet Tempests.
The problem here is the inverse of Incursions. The current FW travesty may not be fixed for some time because it is only an ISK faucet to the holder of LP. It is actually a decent ISK sink overall in the game.
Because it merely (and I use that word very loosely) transferring ISK wealth from one player to another, CCP may not fix this for a long long time. Granted, they plugged the enormous hole the 5 guys from goons found, but that was an easy fix.
To solve the mess they have now with FW will take a lot more planning, and I just don't think it is a priority.
The real losers with the current FW mess are the people playing FW for the actual role-playing and PvP, and of course, any mission runners who factor in their LP when grinding. All this LP being generated is destroying quite a few faction item markets.
CCP has made it clear that they don't really care about FW (how long did it take for the 1st overhaul?), and their disdain of mission runners is well-documented, so I don't envisage changes for a long time, or until so many people are doing this that LP starts becoming totally meaningless.
When Fleet Stabbers start selling for their mineral costs, then you might see CCP react.

As implemented, the FW mechanic is extremely flawed. It is fixable with at least 4 fixes.
One, the vulnerable state needs a timer, 24-48 hours. After that it should reset. As it stands today, this allows painless coordinated cashins. See #2
Two, Coordinated cashins should have diminishing returns. Holding T5 for an hour or two and still getting 100% of the benefit is dumb. Perhaps a modifier based on amount of LP cashed in per tier.
Three, R&D cores need full removal so that the full amount of demand for the losing factions can be realized.
Four, plexes should not be farmable by a single gunless frigate, or if it is, the timer should be much longer. A sliding scale based on size/quantity of ships "capping" it perhaps. Encourage groups, not solo ninja farming. Extend the timer to 2 hours for a single frigate etc.
We invented the coordinated cashin and it is a pity to see it has become the defacto FW mechanic. It really ruins FW. Farmville indeed.

I just spent some time near the cal/gal spots and it looks like caldari will be the next good one. Amarr and Galente can go home the fake npc war is over. You lost now get with the program and enjoy the rewards. |
