That battleship can be done by noobs (I know because I am one. I have no skills above 3) in a Drake.
Pull all your armor off your ship.
loadout is:
7x XT-2800 heavy assault missile launchers. Use the explosive missiles. 3x medium core defense field I (rig slots which you should be having already for the massive shield boost) 1x micro warp drive 1x invulnerability field 1x stasis webifier 1x shield booster 2x ballistic control system I 1x mark I generator diagnostic system 1x mark I generator capacitor power relay
2x Valkyrie drone 1x warrior drone ( I can only use 3 drones for now, use more if you can obviously )
Here is what you do. Kill all but the battleship. This may take a couple trips in and out but get the Battleship alone.
Enter the room and hit your invul field and warp drive. Scream up to the Battleship and when within 10k hit your web and pop your drones out and sick them on the ship. I ended up bouncing off the back of his ship which made me chuckle a bit . Set orbit to 5k around the battleship and open fire.
It took me 60 rounds (with 7 launchers grouped together) which means I reloaded once but he was almost dead by then anyways. Bottom line is he went down fast because I was firing faster than he could regen. That was the strategy.

I recommend shield purgers rigging instead of core defense. Fill the two remaining meds you have empty. Drop the MWD and shield booster. Fit two meta 4 (azeo) shield extenders instead. Drop the cap power relay and power diagnostic and put either two shield power relays (and a named bcs) or one shield power relay and another bcs I. I'd replace the assault launchers with named heavy launchers. It's a massive passive tank. You might even replace the invul with another shield extender so that you have no dependence on cap.
Looks like your fitting skills aren't there. Make sure you have electronics 5 and engineering 5. Weapons upgrades 4 is essential (you'll eventually want it at 5 and have advanced weapons upgrade to at least 4).
Warp in, target the bs, drop drones, shoot till bs is dead. You should have enough tank to weather the entire fleet until that happens. It'll also work well against the few missions where significant cap neuting happen.
T2 gear would greatly improve your tank and gank. Also, you probably should skill up drone 5 so you can throw out a full 5 drones.

Although I appreciate the input and advise, this post was intended for people like me who have only been playing for a couple weeks to get thru this mission. I don't have a couple months to train all mentioned to complete that mission. Not to mention the items you listed are well over 100 million isk which noobs also don't have.
The loadout I listed is cheap and it will work and it doesn't require months of training. That was the point.

You should still take a look at tried and proven fits for this ship. MWD is not usually a mission friendly mod since you can't use it in most missions and it makes your signature radius huge, thus a much easier target. Here's a link to a drake mission boat that's essentially what Tasko is talking about, these a tried and tested fits and it would help you other novices in the future. Swap out the T2 mods for T1 version, named if you can afford them or the best meta you can afford. Swap out the resistance amplifiers for specific missions if you want or keep the omni tank, either way this looks like a sweet passive setup:

Then I've improved on your advice. Also, I'm not sure what part of my fitting, aside from the riggings and the drake itself, drives the cost up to 100 mil. I fitted a ship similar to the drake for much less than 100 mil using this sort of gear. Maybe some of it has jumped considerably in price with the incursion stuff. Much of this gear is also helpful for drakes in Sansha incursion encounters.

MWDs can now be used in pretty much any mission. They do make your brighter than a nova, but if you know what you are doing they can still be very useful.

Interesting, I wasn't aware of it but apparently it's true http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1065428 Still I don't think MWD is the best idea, sure if you fit HAMs it will get you closer to your target quicker but you are trading so much: cap, grid, sig radius, I wonder if it's really worth it for most ships, Drake in question in particular when you can just fit heavies and start blasting at warp-in..

Well, I'm not sure what you mean by "named" launchers. Looted one the other day that sold for 13 million. Multiply that by 7 and throw in some rigs and you above 100 million.

that would be an arbalest one, which are well known for being expensive and are meta 4, some meta 1 or 2 launchers will be much cheaper their names are malkuth and litmos. named bcus are also rather expensive, but weapon upgrades 4 should be a quick easy train.

I used malkuths for a while due to their easy fitting requirements (best of the group). Point is that there's cheap launchers that are better than the meta 0s. Also, T2 heavy launchers are pretty good value. If you're going to fly drakes for a while (either in mission or in pew pew land), they're worth getting just for the cost and firepower advantages.

Congrats to the OP on being an IDIOT and Captain Obvious. Of particular note:
1) Totally ignoring how a drake works and how to do a PASSIVE tank...
2) Telling people the secret to killing stuff - do more DPS then it can regen.
Battlecruisers are NOT a ship you should be able to fly easily in 2-3 weeks. Pro tip for missions - get your RESISTS up!!!

Another option is just to decline it, actually decline all missions against other factions,i ve seen alot of newplayers butchering their faction standings, and then after a while when they move to a new corp they find out they are either KOS in that region or can't do any missions above a lvl 1 quality 0 agent and repairing your standing takes long and is hard work even with a standing repair plan

Good post, nice to see some new players who are ignoring the "must be venomous at all times" hype and trying to contribute something.
Welcome to eve.
If you want some advice on cheap fits, gimme a shout ingame. (PS. I sent you a little something)

I don't fly caldari, but wouldn't it be better to fit a target painter to your boat than a web if you are using missiles?
Essentially, with PVE and Missiles is Web > TP or the otherway around? Signature removed for not being EVE related. Zymurgist |
