Firstly I only started this the day before yesterday so no there's not a lot of content, yet!!
Also I'm on a fixed amount of bandwidth for the site so if u click the below links and it's gone then that's why. I'm working on that side of things.
I decided to do this basically cos I can and I'm a kind hearted old fool . Secondly I help a lot in game in the help channel (not always as this player) and find that with some people no amount of explaining gets the message through. So I decided to base the tutorials in picture format, that way you can't go wrong.
I'm concentrating in areas which are most asked about first...
Now don't shout at me for the layout of the site that will change but I would like your opinions on the 3 picture tutorials I have done so far. Below are direct links to them:
Combat Drone Tutorial Mining Drone Tutorial Probing Moons
You have the ability to STOP the slides, then carry on, or pick a slide from the list. Clicking START will erm start the slideshow
Constructive feedback pls.... ___________________________________________ http://www.eve-tutor.com

DRONE FEEDBACK you should start with an unexpanded drone menu and explain that first, the next picture should be the expanded picture; This also allows you to explain that the LACK of such an option below overview means you have no drones in your drone bay. (alot of n00bs still either have the drones in items bay at some station)some don't realize they bought drones elsewhere than the station they were at Though, i'm assuming this is just for a tutorial about the inflight menu, so i'll downplay the need for market tips.
You'll also need to test WHETHER exodus lets you scoop individual drones, since i heard you can only scoop when all are in range?
You'll also find this REALLY handy, and might involve you revamping your entire tutorial, sorry....you can MOVE drones to a new folder called, "mining" or "combat"...try it. you'll like it.
awesome tutorial. this is really needed, and yes, this is a major FAQ.

If 4 drones are in range out of 8, 4 will be scooped. The other 4 will ***** about not being in range.

Thanx MF for the feedback unless it has been changed you can scoop individually (by right clicking on the drone and scooping).

That's not true, the option to scoop all the drones doesn't appear on the menu until they are all in range. This is when scooping them all under one command not singular as above.
Taken point of your other notes.

The FAQs are being built under General and POS so far...

Correct, and not a change I particularly like under Exodus. I'd really like to have a "Return and Scoop" option in addition to "Return and Orbit" if it has to now work like this.
You can of course expand out your "Drones in Space" view in order to scoop individual drones that are in range even if the entirely of your drone fleet has not reached scoop distance.

what's so hard about that? Someone should write a guide to making html pages in the browser ingame. it's called, "keep it simple, stupid" or KISS for short. heeh
i found i had to have EVERY FILE in the same folder in order for some things to work properly. it turns into a big fat mess, but it works.
Try browsing through the pages at Ordo Ministorum's ingame website. i've tried ot work in every tool CCP gave us and more. ______________________ Best darned links ingame and out (backup) |

Getting standard html pages working in IGB (InGame Browser) is not a problem. When you start pre-loading/caching images through javascript it is. I can make it so each image is loaded 1 by 1 which I have had working but it takes so friggin long to work through the pictorials it's not worth doing.
A lot of people today tend to run EVE in a window anyway so launching IE or Firefox isn't a prob whilst playing.
On another note I sent a player to the site who was having moon probing problems. We couldn't figure out what she was doing wrong. When she came back she said it was great and solved the problem
I know this line of help will be very useful as nothing beats being able to see how to do stuff. ___________________________________________ http://www.eve-tutor.com
