Well I didn't even get a character created in Dust before running into an issue that plagued EVE for seemingly ages before CCP finally listened to their customers.. the frikkin text is too small to read?! (albeit it was always legible in EVE, but didn't used to have proper sizing options) I realize it's expected that everybody's playing on a HDTV these days, but such is not the case. Also, while it's by no means big anymore, a 25" tube TV isn't small enough that it be Ok for text to be illegible. I hope this is something that'll be taken care of quicker than it was in EVE. Personally it was enough of a turnoff for me to not proceed further yet.
On a different note, it seemed equally lame to me, that I couldn't join in on the official Dust forums without first having created a character.. |

i feel for you but honestly the vast majority have changed to HD and HD TVs and monitors are so cheap now theres really no excuse for not having 1

Only for those working a full-time job are they cheap. The least expensive HDTV (399.99) in my workplace eats up my 16.00/hr part-time paycheck. Hell, the 24'' monitor I'm reading this on was almost three hundred.
(As a point of comparison, a 32'' HDTV at my workplace costs almost a thousand bucks).
I agree, and I wish CCP would at least give us the option of scaling down for readability. I can just barely make out the text on my lumpy old CRT. |

From the patch notes, the beta didn't even support non-HD TVs at all until this most recent update.
Seriously, it's not that expensive to get a basic HDTV or monitor. If you're going to play games on a HD console, I think it's fair to expect an HDTV at this point. This is near the end of the first HD console generation, not at the beginning. |

Clearly you had the cash to buy an HD console at some point. Invest in an HD screen. Then go back and play all the games you played on that overglorified litebright you call a tv and kick yourself in the face for not switching sooner. Not having an HD screen is like fitting a t2 battleship with all t1 equipment. You will get flamed for that garbage too.

This is a problem I've run into with almost all games I play these days. I find it silly that the best answer so far is to just fork out hundreds of $ (or in my case -ú) to get a new t.v. Though I am in need of an upgrade, spending hundreds on a t.v isn't quite one of my top priorities at the moment. However, I've come to accept that this is how things are these days so I'm not really expecting anything to be done to accommodate those of us with less disposable income. In the meantime until I can afford a HDTV like everyone else I'll be investing in a nice magnifying glass instead. |

HDTVGÇÖs have been out long enough that you should be able to buy them second hand by now. If a new one costs as little as $300, then I expect if you keep your eye on the classifieds (Bargain Hunter, Kijiji, Craigslist, eBay, whatever you have where you are....) you can probably get one for $50. |

This guy just put op in his place. On that note Adjustable text is super important regardless of tv not every one has equal eye sight. |
