Lets say that I am in a Wormhole with ~20 sites in it and I want to reduce the number of sites that I have to scan through each day. So I decide to scan down the bulk of the sites (both anomalies and signatures) to 100% at least once and visit each of them, with the hope that I can get them to eventually despawn. What is the trigger for a site that will cause it to despawn after a visit? Is the key that I've seen the warp-in text box or do I have to interact with the site in some manner: combat, mine or gas harvest?
Also, how long do the sites remain alive once they have been triggered?

Pencil and paper.
Write down the site id's when you scan them down the 1st time. Then just ignore your known sites on subsequent system scans.

Well, that works for one day, but then the next day the site IDs change and I have to start all over again. I want most sites to "go away" once I trigger them. -------------- Indecision is a terrible thing.

Once you initiate a warp to the site, it starts a 72 hour timer. After that timer expires the site despawns. For the meantime, what I always did was bookmark each site and label it; Grav 1, Ladar 3, etc. Then, when I'd start probing for the day, I'd simply move one probe over each bookmark set to minimal range and scan once, then ignore the signature. Usually there's only going to be one signature within that probe sphere. If you have none, remove the bookmark. If you have more than one, then you have to find the new ones. Otherwise you can just ignore that signature and move on. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

To be more specific, they will despawn *at downtime* after 72 hours pass.

Excellent! This is what I was looking for. Lots of good info here. Many thanks: this will make my life a little easier. -------------- Indecision is a terrible thing.

My advice is, for C3's and below, spawn the ladars but hold onto the gravs. You don't get very many gravs regularly, so you want to milk them dry of ABC while you've got them. Its annoying, but it is not annoying to make 120-250M from each grav.

One of the things I do to keep track of sigs is putting a letter for the day in the front of the bookmark.
for example
A TWV-345 Isolated Core Deposit
The letter A shows which day I'm on - the next day I would change it to B, etc..... This way you can quickly tell from the map which you have scanned down if you need to rescan to get the new ID. You will have to close the map and reopen it for the name tags to change.
So the second day I would put one probe out at 0.5AU range right on top of each bookmarks and scan them down (you can do this with multiple probes... each at a different bookmark). That way you can quickly remove any dead sigs and you can also update your bookmark with the new name and letter.
As for getting rid of grav/ladar's... warp to them and cancel before you actually warp (I do it twice in a row - The first time put's it on the map and the second time puts the name tag up to make sure you can see it).
The in 72 hours they will despawn. I suggest don't do it to the radar/mag sites since you will want to clear them yourself
WH's do not spawn exit's on the far side until you warp to them. Therefore as long as you don't warp to them, no one will enter your WH until you do or until someone comes in from a K162.
For scanning here is some additional info.
If your using a deep space probe there are three main categories of sig. Small, Medium, and Large... Say for your skills you get 0.11 for small, 0.22 for Medium, and 0.44 for large (these will scale depending upon your skills and equipment). For Grav/Ladar's all perimeter are large, all Frontier are Mediums and Core's are all small. Mag and radar sites are all small and WH's vary depending upon the class - K162's are large.
Therefore with one scan you can quickly ignore 2/3's of the scan sigs if you are looking for a certain type of object.
