[1] EVE only uses outbound TCP connections and outbound UDP. There's no need to allow any ports into your host/network. You just need to allow for the TCP keepstate and of course not block anything outbound. -CR /* Cortex Reaver crtxreavr at trioptimum dot com "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin, 1759 */ |

[4] According to CCP at: http://eve-online.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/eve_online.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=qI6PU2Ng&p_lva=&p_faqid=119&p_created=1032540142&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9ncmlkc29ydD0mcF9yb3dfY250PTEmcF9zZWFyY2hfdGV4dD1wb3J0cyZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPTMmcF9jYXRfbHZsMT1_YW55fiZwX2NhdF9sdmwyPX5hbnl_JnBfc29ydF9ieT1kZmx0JnBfcGFnZT0x&p_li= "If you are connecting from behind a corporate or personal firewall, you will need to enter the server's IP address, which is 157.157.139.10 port 26000 when using TCP/IP, and UDP port 26001 when using Direct Play." But. . . this makes only partial sense 'cause EVE hasn't had an option to use MS-DirectPlay for as long as I've been playing (Beta Phase 4) and even if it did, 29001/udp is not part of the MS-DirectPlay protocol. When I'm at home tonight, I'll run a sniffer on my firewall to determine exactly what it's using. /* Cortex Reaver crtxreavr at trioptimum dot com "They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." -Benjamin Franklin, 1759 */ |
