Edited by: Stroke victim on 31/01/2011 22:27:04 Edited by: Stroke victim on 31/01/2011 22:22:40 Okay, so I have been in a Sansha mood and got my hands on a Phantasm BPC, I figure I best makes good use of it and I have been throwing some ideas for fits, let me know what you think. I am doing this off the top of my head so, I might be wrong in how this all fits together.
3x Heavy Pulse Laser II 1x Medium Diminishing Nosferatue
2x Large Shield Extener II 2x Invulnerability field II (Same EHP as 3x LSE 1x Invul but with fitting left for the bigger pulse lasers and the nos) 1x Y-TP... 10mn Named Microwarpdrive 1x Warp Disruptor II
2x Heat Sink II 1x Nanofiber Internal Structure II
3x Medium core defence extender I
3x Warrior II
I wish this ship had 4 lows so I could Nano it properly, but beggars can't be choosers. What do you think?

I believe you have an extra high, so maybe a small nos. This is a little different than the typical phantasm. Cap? I have a feeling you will run out, quickly.
The whole build is going to have slight problems cuase you can't use your nos (range) which means you might as well use neuts, but those only help if they get too close. Not much i can recommend that won't steer this to a cookie cutter loadout -------------------------------------------------
Don't debate with morons. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience. |

Edited by: Stroke victim on 31/01/2011 22:42:56 Edited by: Stroke victim on 31/01/2011 22:39:41 It gets around a minute of caplife without the nos, with it I get quite a long time, around 5 minutes or so, more than enough for most engagements, the idea being that anything faster than me will lose in the tank/spank battle quickly and anything slower I can keep out of scram but in Nos. Neuts will just destroy my cap.
Some numbers for you, 55k EHP and 500 DPS, 1600 m/s iirc.

Also out of interest, what is a cookie-cutter setup for a Phantasm?

I believe the Zealot Sansha Issue courtesy of Merin Ryskin went something like this before CCP nerfed the agility on the Phantasm:
[Phantasm, merin phantasm] Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II
Y-T8 Overcharged Hydrocarbon I Microwarpdrive Large Shield Extender II Medium Capacitor Booster II, Navy Cap Booster 800 Invulnerability Field II Invulnerability Field II Republic Fleet Warp Disruptor
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Small Energy Neutralizer II Small Energy Neutralizer II
Medium Core Defence Field Extender I Medium Core Defence Field Extender I Medium Core Defence Field Extender I
Warrior II x3
But that was some time ago now.

This is still the fit to go with. It's the one mine has had for the past few years (how has it not died?). I've mashed up some Myrm's and Drakes with it, along with a few frigs but to be honest there are reasons the ship is cheaper than a Zealot. It's ok, but it isn't fast enough, agile enough and it needs more cargo (chews through boosters like a fat man in the Pick and Mix). It also needs it's old shield amount back if it stays as slow and lumbering as it is :( Putting the 'irate' into 'Pirate' |

This. It's still a pretty decent ship despite CCP's completely unnecessary nerf, and the price is very appealing compared to other faction/T2 cruiser hulls. It's just overshadowed by the nanocane in a lot of ways, like most other cruisers that aren't a Cynabal. I'd probably drop the faction point though, unless you're rich. Post nerf and post-AC-boost the Phantasm doesn't have enough of an advantage over the competition to invest that much money into a single module.
Oh, and you NEED a cap booster, period. Cap hungry guns + perma-running the MWD (you die otherwise) = fit a cap booster or become a comedy lossmail. -----------

For a good Phantasm fit you must start by getting some splendid blondie then...

Phantasm is still very viable, but I never understood CCPs right out stupid changes to nerf it. Then introdce something like the Cynabal *roll eyes*
I perfer the 3 HS one, but I guess a nano can wor as well, tho I rather perfer to use implants to offset its lacking speed and agility.
At least the Phantasm with its Invuls makes a decent boat in Schimitar gangs. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edited by: Daneel Trevize on 01/02/2011 11:38:09 You know, you can active tank it...
[Phantasm, PvP active tanked 2] Damage Control II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II
Large Shield Booster II Warp Disruptor II Invulnerability Field II Medium Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800 10MN MicroWarpdrive II Invulnerability Field II
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M Small Diminishing Power System Drain I Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M Small Diminishing Power System Drain I Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M
Medium Core Defence Capacitor safeguard II Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer II Medium Core Defence Capacitor safeguard II
Warrior II x3
Baby Nightmare Might really want crystals, and strong blue pill, and/or remember you have the tracking bonus so conflag might be worth stocking
For 2mins of heat it can then tank 530+ and do ~700dps.
Whatever you do, at least plug the EM hole. |
