I'm not sure I understand why strontium is so cheap, it takes much longer to ice mine for very little amount unlike the other ice products.
I'm assuming because strontium only gets used up during reinforced mode and the majority of POS owners have their pos well defended so there is no need to use strontium, so unlike the other fuels there are more reserves of strontium and not much demand.
Any other thoughts?

The old sov mechanics used to be based on POSes. That made people in 0.0 attack POSes in order to take over a system.
Now sov doesn't need POSes, so there isn't a need to have a POS at every moon in a 0.0 system.
Less POSes getting attacked means less stront is needed.

Beyond ^this^,
A POS that never gets attacked only needs stront at start-up, where it needs the other ice products all the time. Refining ice for those other products nets stront wether you want it or not.

would be nice if strontium could be made into more ice products no?
I think when you refine ice you should have the option to refine with strontium, giving you less of the other types of fuel OR without strontium giving you a slightly better yield for POS fuels but 0 strontium.

Dreads aren't going into siege as often anymore. Carriers go into triage more often, but not enough to compensate the big slugfests between dreads in the past. Fleets of 200 dreads and some carriers are a thing of the past. Those 200 dreads all carrying 1500-1800 strontium, and using it.

No.
There are different types of ice that give no stront but higher amounts of other ice products.
