The datacentre in London is probably experiencing problems because of this. It's apparently screwing up the internet for everyone in the UK.

Woah, whoever is running that datacenter is completely off his rocker. Facebook and Microsoft's cabling are SERIOUSLY more organized.
FYI: I'm one of the guys that helps build those servers at HP =P

I believe it's one of the best Datacenters in the world.
Certainly good enough to run the biggest single shard MMO in the world.
Problems do happen.

Cables are cheap and it can be a better solution than the next expensive thing, but this mass however is a heat dampener and fire risk. It does not strike me as a good idea.
