Do ya thinks its possible in the day when folks are flying in FTL crafts that we can get a system that will allow me to transfer a place or coordinate to another player without have to dump it overboard in a trash can and have him/her rumage through it to get said coordinates? Isnt that a tad bit silly to have to do it that way?

There is, but it's a bit tricky. It involves strapping the materials to a torpedo and targeting your friends open cargo bay doors.
Results may vary.

That's the only way to circumvent the DRM on your pod.

comfirming the bookmark system is annoying at times.
tbh tho I'm only posting 'cos of your character name. Space - Above and Beyond was a great series wasn't it.

Confirming this. Too bad they ended the show prematurely.

Yes, it's ridiculous.
I could understand if you had to have someone courier some coordinates out of WH space, as it's not known and therefore successful communications may vary. But to have to physically give someone 1-original of a k-space bookmark is stupid.

The system, known or wormhole, is irrelevant given how FTL communications work.

Agreed.

Argh, the tech and gear were horrific. The CGI stuff was scifi, but the physical props were Vietnam/WWII era equipment bought from a local Army-Navy store, and the tactics/feel of the show were very WWII-ish.
The "manually operated, aimed via Mk I eyeball looking out a tiny window" .50 cal machine guns on the sides of the space transports and the Vietnam era LAW used to kill a chig tank just hurt to watch.

Yes "send me the coordinates" should suffice!
All places in systems have 3 coordinates which should eaily be transmitted. Never tried to manually make a bookmark by typing in the coordinates though, is it possible at all?

Sadly* not. You can't even edit the ones that already exist.

Agreed!
I would also like to have the ability to show different sets of bookmarks on the solar system map. Turn off my wormhole signature bm and turn on combat bm's, etc.
And while we are at it. Add a new category of BMs for the "corporation"? Corporations should be able to share their bookmarks!

WOW.
What a concept, I think my mind is blown.
BTW, be happy you don¦t have to copy whole multiple hundreds of BMs anymore, just to warp to zero on your favorite routes. ______________ Mal-¦Appears we got here just in a nick of time. What does that make us?¦ Zoe-`Big damn heroes, sir.` Mal-¦Aint we just.¦ |

To play devil's advocate,
If you make something easy to do, people will tend to do it.
The whole reason we got warp to zero was because so many people created 'warp to zero' bookmarks that loading the bookmarks was causing horrific database lag.
