EVE upon entering its 8th year of existence is in dire need of a overhaul in the corporation and alliance management department.
The current model supports only the feudal system of dictatorship which has been the downfall of many real world governments and EVE alliances and corporations. EVE needs true democracy NOW.
Or at least the option to pick a form of leadership structure when creating an alliance. (And to change that after the fact). |

Agreed, Comunal - No body in charge, No hangers, no HQ general flag to fly under Dictator - 1 person in-charge, Hangers and HQ Hierarchical - 1 person in change with delegation of roles , Hanger and HQ
Would be awesome if you can manipulate your own hierarchy visual image of who is in charge of what and who they answer to...

Totaly supported
Eve needs an upgrade on corp/alliance management. I know from experiance, if you're new to null sec...just knowing who to talk to and trust can be a cumbersum task.
If you're the leader of a corp....OMG the overhead is terrible. a friendly interface would help with that i think

I think that the introduction of several structures could be of great benefit.
Democratic - A true democracy, everyone has a vote when it comes to wardecs, other important decisions 'Comunal' structure as described above by Lord Evangelian. Representative democracy/republic - People elect who they want for what position. Presidential republic - Hierarchical as described above by Lord Evangelian, with the leader being reelected after a preset period of time Dictatorial republic - One leader with people elected in to other positions such as treasurer.
Including the structures Dictator and Hierarchical as described above by Lord Evangelian that makes 6.

Refinement: EVE needs another level of official organization above Alliance level. This has of course existed for a long time in the form of blue standings to other alliances and has become known as Coalitions. This is the next logical step for EVE. However I would like to see that atleast this coalition level of government would be like Alinair describes. This could of course be applied to all three levels of player organization but for corp. level it seems a bit excessive. No one wants a takeover in their small gang corp :)
The form of government of an alliance or coalition should be visible to all parties. Both members and non-members. Another suggestion would be that players could be a member of an alliance without being a member of any corporation. NPC or private. Independent players (no corp, alliance or coalition membership) would benefit from having to pay no taxes etc, but would be attackable by anyone - anywhere.
We should not have to be members of NPC corporations when we leave a corporation. This will discourage one-man corporations and scammers etc in NPC-corps.
