Ok why should all the pirates and gankers have all the fun of Hulkageddeon? I propose SALEAGEDDEON û for the week of Hulkageddeon why donÆt all Industrial corps and toons unite and remove ALL our items we have up for sale or re-price our goods at double the going rate. Lets show everyone in EVE that we are a needed group!! LET THE TEARS OF PIRATES AND GANKERS FUEL OUR FREIGHTERS FOR THAT WEEK. Lets crash eveÆs market place and let lose the dogs of industry and cry havoc!!

sounds like a scene from Grosse Pointe Blank....
Quote: Mr. Grocer: [Marty and Grocer are shooting eachother] Comrade! Comrade! Marty: What? Mr. Grocer: Why don't you just join the union, we'll go upstairs together and cap daddy! Marty: This union, there's gonna be meetings? Mr. Grocer: Of course! Marty: No meetings. [They continue shooting]

The problem with this is that Hulkageddonites are already stocking up on cheap, disposable ships and equipment. It's either start immediately jacking the price of frigate and destroyers up or fuggedaboutit. Odds are that you're already too late to really make a difference.

Except we have these things called market forces which prevent cartels such as this from forming, as there is too much incentive to undercut the other guy for a quicker sale. ----------

Hulkageddon 3 proportedly resulted in the destruction of 2200-ish minign ships. This includes 894 hulks and 824 Maks. 593 retrievers shouldn't count as they are cheap, cheap, cheap.
The Q3 EVE quarterly report says there were more hulks than any other ship type in game (17,000). This means that during the time of hulkageddon 3, 5% of the hulk fleet was destroyed.
I do not know how many of these ships would have been lost anyway, even without Hulkageddon. I have a couple hulk kills on my KB, and have even lost a couple... none of which happend during Hulkageddon.
While fun, hulkageddon is actually a very minor event in EVE economics.
As for while don't all manufacturers remove all their goods. Okay.... you first.
Just as a few hundred pilots blowing up a couple thousand ships is totally ineffective at moving EVE economics, even if you managed to get hundreds of people to stop selling or raise their prices, it is too small to effect the market.

LHA you are missing the targeted client û the GANKER. There going to want destroyers û frigs û cruisers. I have no problem pulling my production off market for the week if there is able to be solidarity in Industrial Corps of EVE. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN. But I will be honest and say that I have already made a lot of destroyers in aspect of ganking the market myself. From past post from Hulkageddon the biggest crying from the contest is that there has not been enough throw away ships in market for them to purchase. So I am ready to put my production on the market for 3 times the going rate û Why shouldnÆt the Industrialist make a real nice profit off the contest? I just would love to hear the tears of the gankers to fuel my freighters à

I'll do better. I'll buy 30% of all Hulks avalaible for sale on the Market and invest a real fortune tonight. I shall wait until the time is right and sell to therefore become filthy rich. I will of course buy as many blueprints as I can afford. I am set on taking over the Hulk market. Y'all belong to me now!

Its doomed to fail big time and will never happen all i can suggest is carry on smoking your crack pipe
Industrialist rarely work together as their are to busy under cutting each other on the market & ya be lucky if 0.5% of EVE industrialist will read this post or even pay any attention to it if & when they do work together you find will the CEO of mining corparation buying ore of its noob members at below market price so that he/she can make profit them selves with out its members seeing any think go back...
Ya ever heard the saying - Have you ever tryed herding cats ?
The sad truth is pirates/gankers do & can work together for a common cause... mainly on a short term basis's

What you fail to understand is that we industrialists financially gank the gankers on a daily basis. By nature, gankers are generally an impatient lot that don't spend time hunting for the best prices. They want the LOLs and the pew-pew, not market surfing and hauling. So they get their week of fun, chill it's just a game!

Sorry to spoil your tea cake party in empire... but we the pirates 'n' gankers at least the organised ones.
Have secondary accounts/alts involved in industrie or some sort of null sec farming to support our crimes in empire.
Its you the noob in empire, who is the bottom off the food chain... & we the pirate / ganker who feeds upon you

Ignore the pirates, play smart, and give them no tears. That really goes a long way, everything else is really just an extension.

It is annoying to be a miner and have your days ruined because of the event no doubt, but the best to do really is just to put EVE on the shelf for the duration to avoid getting killed and promote excessive epeen growth.
I never quite understood why it's so fun to harass helpless people/players, even though I have tried a number of times, but each to their own I guess o.O

Because people think it can be rationalized to cause anguish to others since it "is a game" (which it is, no doubt). It is just a sick quirk of human nature. The best way to deal with it, really, is just to ignore the griefers. Play smart, give them no kills, but if they do get some, then give them no tears. I shake my head in disbelief over all the hatemail that is published after each Hulkageddon - if the victims would just stop QQing, these people would have a lot less fun. Its simple - dont give them what they are after.

This. Stop ranting about hulkageddon, already. Or run missions or something for a week . Not that I'll be mining the first few days in March either =)

Confirming this. I sold a partially researched Orca BPO to a member of a highsec wardec alliance back in January.

The pirates I know tend to be pretty knowledgeable about large parts of the game, and tend to have pretty sophisticated supply chains. It would be a mistake to assume that you pulling your goods off the market and doubling the price wouldn't dramatically increase my profit margins.
