Heres my idea:
Instead of making lab slots get progressivly more expensive which only hurts the newer player. What CCP should do is limit the level of ME and PE that you can research on a bpo. I say this because once a bpo gets to a certain ME level it just doesnt do help to research past that point. This could work i think, but there will be disagreement.

but people aren't researching past the perfect point anyway because of the increased pricing.
If the prices didn't increase then they would still be held onto by rich players.
Rich players can now no longer afford to hold lab slots which they don't use, which allows the 'middle class' of eve to profit from these.
Yes i agree that new players will be unable to use lab slots, but if they can afford the BPO then won't they be able to afford the lab slot costs?

A new player could very easily get a frigate bpo and not have any slots to recearch it. So again, we need more lab slots. The solution is to have a add on for the PoS's that allows this.

If a new player were to buy a frigate BPO, that'd be a painful learning experience, since no matter how much research gets done to that BPO, he's not making any kind of margin on it.
I will once again state what I have stated before in other threads:
Researched BPOs save only approximately 5%-10% of the margin. There is no specific "need" for research on a BPO to make a profit in this game. While nice, lab slots are not a necessity to be successful.
To that "new" player I would have this advice: skip the frigate BPO. Buy the cruise missile, ammo, module, perhaps turret or torpedo instead. Better margin. If you have your heart set on building ships, wait till you know which ships to buy and where you'll need to be to sell them - which, as a new player, you don't yet.
