Edited by: Chopper Whopper on 05/02/2011 16:02:58 Edited by: Chopper Whopper on 05/02/2011 16:01:37 So almost every time I minimize from the EVE Client, or even quit from it. My laptops back light is dimmed, by a lot. It is right now.
Though, every now and then, after EVE somehow dims my back light, my screen goes black then comes back on and I get a message from Windows 7 telling me my graphics card had failed and successfully recovered. Brand new laptop by the way.
This didn't happen until he release of Incursion. In Tyrannis I could minimize all I wanted.
Question for you, has this happened to you? Or better yet, any other errors?

The message about the graphics card failing and recovering can be a driver error. Have you tried updating it?

It's an Acer Aspire 7741G-7017.
Runs every game I play without problems except what I mentioned with EVE. The error only happens with EVE. -

This is a common problem. ATI driver error if I remember correctly; upgrade your drivers.
Check the issues and workarounds forum for more info.

I run in 'Fixed Window' and have zero issues with a very similar setup to the OPs.

I have same issue as the OP with the backlight on my laptop. As far as know I have all drives up-to-date. Work around fix is to change my screen resolution tempararily, and then change it back; until the next time I minimise Eve.

This doesnt seem to happen when playing windowed. When full screen, going to the settings screen (and having the back ground dim) would apply the graphics dimming filter to everything. So short term fix, play windowed.
