Hi GD, I am wondering what the rule is on a "new player"
You see, i used to sit outside of Aikianavas, and simulate myself as a PVP Tutorial Agent. I told pilots that i will give them the isk to cover their ship, and teach them PVP by them grabbing my can. I have never "baited" new players, or caused them dismay in this. More often then not, i would pay twice as much as their new, t1 fit merlins. I would give them advice on their fits, and also some basic strategy for pvp in eve.
I got a mail from a GM stating that this is griefing. I fail to see what he is talking about, considering i am giving 3-6 mil to new players, and teaching then PVP when CCP has not created a PVP Tutorial Agent.
What are your thoughts?!

The rules say you don't can flip or can bait in starter systems.
Now you say you do all the other stuff and maybe you do, maybe you don't.
Fact is you're breaking the rules. Simple as.

No can baiting in starter systems and thats the bottom line, regardless of how nice you are being.

Edited by: Destination SkillQueue on 07/02/2011 15:16:07 I guess it is a starter system, so it is can baiting. I thought they all had 1.0 sec rating, so my mistake.

I can't see anything wrong with what you are doing assuming you are telling the truth. That is besides the point though, since can baiting is only forbidden in noobie starter systems and Akiainavas is not one of those systems, so the rule wouldn't even apply if you were can just baiting people.
Yea, i know its not a noob system, but i got the mail regardless, not sure why. Most people i did this with, are friends in my list, and tell me when they get into a fight, haha.
I dunno man, maybe this game is changing.

EDIT: I guess it is a starter system, so it is can baiting.
Oh is it? Then that might explain a bit.

Says its a starter system. If it has tutorial agents then I think its classed as a starter system. Never heard of the place personally :)

I'm not sure how much they learn about PVP by getting killed in one volley tbh.

Still a bit weak on the GM's side to not even bother checking your wallet and transactions, or chat logs.. I mean he/she could've been a bit more differentiated and said "basically it's a nice thing you're doing, but please switch to a non-starter system".
Ah well, maybe the logs didn't show anything

If I didn't new Eve and the general pvp'rs attitude I would say "wow this guy rocks" but knowing this all I can say is either you are trolling GM's or players, mabe both.
If you really want to help new players you should create your own corp, you can also spam at any trade hub your intentions like you are doing here and i'm pretty sure you'll get players ready to learn.
By the way there are already a few eve schools where you could apply your talents of teacher, they respect the rules and could help you doing this in a better environement.
If you really give those millions to the players you "flip" there should be something GM's could find (logs) before sending you mails. You should realy stop trolling in game and here.
