if ship's sensor strength / sig radius > 1.08 then yes.

Not just the formula, but the way to remember it:
You want the blip you make in space be smaller than the threshold value at which it is no longer possible to probe out. The size of the blip you make is normally your signature radius (cf. tracking, missile damage, lock-on times and all that). For probing purposes, this is reduced by your sensor strength. The threshold value is 1.08.
Thus:
SigRadius/SensorStr < 1.08
If this is true for your ship, it is unprobable.

Depends how nuts the prober is. The 1.08 threshold is with all-V probing skills, a dedicated bonused probing ship, sister probes and launcher and a head full of probing implantsà
I'm not entirely sure how much higher it is if any of these factors aren't maxed out.

Interesting stuff, thanks So would I be correct in assuming that this setup will be effective in foiling all but the most dedicated of scanners?
