It¦s an easy setup, (look for named an t2 stuff)
try:
4 x 250mm railgun II 2 x Heavy Launcher
1 10MN AB II 1 Large Shieldbooster II 2 Photon Scattering 1 cap recharger II
3 powerdiagnostics II 1 damage mod II (or 4 x powerdiag II)
maybe you can drop of the AB then you got a spare medslot, this is that what I did.

Look for Moa setups and use that, seriously. Use T2 weaponry and modules when/where possible. And put whatever you like in the remaining med slot. A cap recharger, another shield hardener, a shield boost amp, a tracking computer, whatever.

Edited by: Dust Puppy on 28/01/2005 14:24:55 I'm trying to convince me to spend all my money on an Eagle but I'm having a hard time to convince me that it is superior to the Ferox.
I think that they tank about the same. The Ferox has a lot more shield hitpoints but the Eagle has better resistances so it would mostly depend on the pirates I'm fighting which one would be better.
Offensively the Eagle has one less high slot. I use a 4x250mm and 3xheavy launchers on my Ferox and would probably use 4x250mm and 2xheavy launchers on the Eagle so the difference is one heavy launcher. The Eagle gets an extra optimal range bonus and damage bonus so the Eagle's 250's would do more damage than the Ferox' 250's and as I only use the heavy launchers to take out small ships that get to close.
The Eagle's weakness as I see it is that it has only 2 launcher hardpoints and no drones so it's pretty vulnerable for small frigs that can web you but as it has 5 med slots and good resistances it's probably easy to fit a web or a tracking computer on there.
edit: Think I convinced myself to buy an Eagle there __________ Capacitor research |

I don't think the Eagle looks ugly, but I won't train for one because I don't know if it would do enough damage.

In "most" cases the damage output of a HAC is secondary, its ability to soak damage is the main priority combined with its damage output.
Eagle is formidable vs standard cruisers/battlecruisers/lower, but vs battleships or other HAC's it doesnt fair as well as other HAC's.
Fitted for ranged combat tho, if anything its a safer option. __________________________________________

Edited by: Seto Mazzarotto on 29/01/2005 04:04:51 I've heard stories about it being used for gate sniping.
Basically if there's a place for long-range combat in PvP, then the Eagle will fit the task wonderfully. Otherwise, it's a good NPC hunter.
I'd like to get one someday, though for the moment I am more than happy with my new Harpy.
EDIT: And call me crazy, but I think the Moa model is beautiful. ----------- Fighting for the ideals of freespace, posthuman ethics, and rock & roll. |

The Eagle has a role to play in PvP, and it plays that role very well. If you can't figure it out simply by looking at the ship bonuses, and thinking about what it can kill quickly, you probably should stick to mindlessly armor tanking an apoc.

A friend of mine drives an Eagle and he uses it solely for his lvl 3 missions. I asked him about his setup and he uses two different setups depending on if he is in Deadspace or not.
Setup 1 : Deadspace
Hi Slot: 4x 250mm Prototype Gauss Gun (with Antimatter ammo) 2x 'Arbalest' Heavy Launcher
Mid Slot: 1x 10MN Afterburner II 1x Medium Shield Booster II 1x Tracking Computer II 2x Cap Recharger II
Low Slot: 1x Named Warp Core Stabilizer 1x Power Diagnostic Unit II (or named) 1x Tracking Enhancer II 1x Magnetic Field Stabilizer
Setup 2 : Non-deadspace.
1. Switch all the 250mm guns for 200mm Railguns 2. Switch afterburner for microwarpdrive. 3. Switch PDU for Cap Relay

He should try fitting an EM shield hardener (Photon scattering), Sanshas will be a piece of cake after that.

Dont care what anyone says about caldari heavy assault, i love them. The cerb has an awesome rate of fire,
5 x arb heavy and 2 cross link bolt array.
When shielding it i got lucky, i use a meduim dread gurista shield boost and 2 em hardners.
I use my Eagle for sniping, 2 days till i can use T2 medium, so atm im using compressed 250s that do well, use 2 heavy missile launchers as well.
If gate camping in 0.0 and you have scramblers and webbers supporting you use several sensor booster 2's for fast locks and range, anyone unlucky enough to get within 100-120km you can snipe at will.
When tanking 1, use 1 tech 2 med shieled booster and again em hardners, i can do many lvl4's solo in both ships now (even though i prefer raven for ease and speed). Lokking forwad to trying out those T2's 250's.

The eagle is a sniper fited it as such.
Imho train up hac skill too 5 and you've doubled a 250mm II's range add tungsten or iridium ammo and holy mother of jesus you have yourself 1 very long range boat.

As I can't fly an Eagle, I can't test this, but the Eagle looks like it might do nicely in PvP as an anti-Frigate escort for friendly battleships.

PVP the 2 launchers arent much good on the eagle, using named or t2 nos will make frigs think twice if they get close :o
Cerberus setup right is the meanest ship in game and can do serious damage in the right hands, in both PVP and PVE
PVE it has problems against laser using races
Id tell u my setups but I think that might get me hurt by current enemies :o

Ok, I bought an Eagle for lvl 3's very soon after they came out and I have not been the least bit disappointed. Below is a good setup for lvl 3's that isn't insanely expensive:
2x Arbalest Heavy 4x 250mm Proto (Antimatter)
1x 10MN MWD 1x Medium Shield Booster II 1x Named EM Shield Hardener 1x 90% Webber 1x Tracking Computer II
3x PDU II 1x Magnetic Stabilizer II
This absolutely blasts thru lvl 3's, and even with antimatter ammo you'll still have at least a 45km optimal. The webber is great for those fast inty's so you don't have to rely on the heavies if you don't want to. And the MWD allows the range and quick loot pickup. If you have the money, and feel like hunting the parts like I did, this is the setup I prefer:
2x Dread Guristas Heavy (or Caldari Navy) 4x 250mm Proto (Antimatter)
1x Domination MWD 1x Medium Shield Booster II 1x Dread Guristas EM Shield Hardener 1x Domination 90% Webber 1x Shadow Serp Tracking Computer
2x PDU II 2x Shadow Serp Magnetic Stab
(You need the different heavy launchers for the few extra grid ya need to take off the PDU II, or just get a lower grid req MWD). I've been fooling around with the idea of replacing the medium booster with a Gist Large Booster, but since I've moved onto Lvl 4's with a Raven, I didn't feel like running the calcs to see what config made the most sense. The bottom line is the Eagle is a fantastic ship for doing lvl 3's, it's fun to fly, and I have never gotten below 75% shields with this setup.
