Lets say that someone had been taking another persons mission loot, and that mission runner shoots the ninja. Lets also say that the ninja is using this blackbird fit to tackle and ransom the mission runner, how do you think it would fair?

Just a fitting Ive been playing around with, the ninja would change ECM mods to ship type of course. Open to any and all suggestions!

He will easily tank your missiles until you run out of ammo. Then he will just petition you for griefing if you still have him locked down afterwards. And pray you don't get drone aggro or miss a jam as he can probably one or two shot you with that low level of ehp.

You could try boring him to death and hope he hasn't got friends...
That setup ain't going to break the tank of any missionrunner - that's for sure.

My thoughts were that the NOS would drain out the mission runners cap, thus rendering their tank useless, and the missle damage could be selected to take advantage of the runners tank gap (seein what mission they are running should give it away). now is there something I am missing about NOS's?

nos only lowers the cap as far as your cap is. aka, you have 30% cap, it won't take his cap below 30%. But ya, you don't have near enough dps to take down a mission runner.

Really ? Can you really petition that? I thought greif petitions were only looked at if you are grieving new players in starter systems?

I was also thinking this, I would only consider it griefing if you were repeatedly doing this over and over angain to the same player, I can't see holding someone for ransom as a petitionable thing.

Depends on how long you hold him with no way to actually kill him. Locking down a ship in high sec that you stole from and got aggro from only to keep him in place for hours and hours is a good case for a greifing petition. My basis? I got warned when I was using a crow to ninja missions and lock down ships that shot at me. I had no chance at all of killing the ship so it was considered 'greifing' to keep him pointed and immobile. Blame the GM's.

OKay very good point......so would anyone like to suggest a fitting that would be able to break through a mission runners tank? Preferably a cruiser sized hull? but im open to all fits :D

depending on what range you were at.. and if you had the mission runner already locked... well there is a good chance that you would be vaporized in 1 volley before you got a jam cycle started. And the drones would probably kill you anyways. Unless you warp out.

There really isn't one. Cruisers have the worst of both worlds, too slow and high-sig to tank the carebear's damage, and nowhere near enough dps to break the carebear's tank unless they're stupid enough to shoot you while there are still a lot of NPCs left. -----------

if this imaginary person in this hypothetical situation was doing his griefing in amarr space, against amarr ships (or anything using lasers) a curse might be a better choice. neut them down so they dont have any cap and use drones/missiles to slowly eat away at their tank. tracking disruptor's will also help survivability.

And a curse wouldnt be blown up in the first round. which is especially important since the OPs plan requires the target to shoot first.
*edit* Ack.. you plan on swithcing ships, dont you? Dont mind what I said too much then.. well being able to survive a volley is still a good idea. Not to mention surviving drones.

i guess no mission runner clever enough to fit a ship for level 4s is going to shoot s curse stealing their loot unless they have an ace up their sleeve.
an arbi might be a more tempting target for a mission runner. although it would be a hell of a close fight.

Changes -> put on a small smarty and use rainbow fit (carry 4 of each racial). Then swap when you get aggro from a mission runner.
PS: 1600mm plate and DCII on the lows. Enjoy killing stuff. Make sure to EFT it. PSS: Pulse smarty to get rid of drones (2 cycles = dead light drones, 3 for mediums).
