Anyone slightly annoyed that their previously ultimate salvaging rigged destroyer or such equivalent that has three Salvage Tackle IIs now pales in comparison to the new ORE salvager with same tackles? Or that the implementation of the new ORE ship (while super nice) has made said destroyer completely unsellable on the market for a net loss of 6-700,000,000ISK? This is too large an investment to have it's value completely eroded from the market due to a design decision. I would be nice to be able to remove these rigs from ships fitting this criteria... |

Well if they had nerfed your rigs, then I would maybe see a case for this. But a new ship has made your old one worth less than it did...

While I agree with the analogy, it's more like when you buy a brand new Macbook Pro only to find out a week later that the new ones have just been released and you bought the old version. I barely had it out of the box when the new ships were introduced. This was also after much research as to what would make the best salvager. I wouldn't have sunk the investment on the level IIs otherwise. |

If eve-central is correct Small Salvage Tackle II goes for 50M or so, if you payed 600M-700M for three of them i wonder if I might interest you for this great time-sharing deal
Now those who fitted it on a salvage hurricane, they lost in the area of 600M-700M. (I also wonder how you ended up at a destroyer when you wanted the best salvager, it is/was a great salvager for its cost, but if you fitted t2 rigs I would have gone for a larger ship with t1 rigs).

The increased price because I purchased them just before Apocrypha 1.5. I chose the destroyer over a bigger hold as the movement speed was better to keep up with the pace my alt cleared rooms at. Oh and to clarify, just out of the box as I took a few month hiatus in September. |

People actually used the Salvage Tackle II rigs?

Funnily enough, Apple tend to be quite willing to let you replace this kind of newly-obsoleted hardware.
As for the Noctis, yes, if you fit it with T2 tackle, it's very nice, but you also have to pay a whole lot more for those medium rigs compared to the small ones on the dessie. Also, the thing that makes the Noctis better than a destroyer isn't really the salvaging ù it's the tractor bonus ù so complaining about the salvage tackle is a bit misguidedà ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Given that the Noctis costs a couple hundred times what a destroyer does, I'd say the destroyer (or battlecruiser) salvage ships still have their uses. Especially in places you don't want to risk the Noctis. --Vel

T2 salvage rigs on a T1 destroyer? And only now you are complaining about the lack of value for such a ship? Your are a troll. --

I fail to see anywhere in the patch notes where the ship was somehow altered to not be able to do its job anymore. Seems to me it is just as good as before; no nerf was done. - The PitBoss: AGREED .. getting paid to farm your alliance isn't real pvp/merc work |

Was trying to figure out how I managed to spend that much on the rigs to begin with given the current small rig market price and realized I have had them for over a year as they are large rigs. Sorry my bad, I took a hiatus for school but didn't think it was THAT long of one. As such, Jint's first analogy is more accurate. To answer the other questions, I chose a destroyer for it's movement speed as the missions I was doing had long distances between tractor ranges. T2 rigs with max skills succeeded on first cycle pretty much every time. This allowed me to salvage rooms super fast after I cleared them with my alt or keep up the same pace when a larger gang was clearing a room. And yes the ship is still useful. Just not even close to being sellable at what I spent now that I want to move on. That said, it is now apparent to me that I jumped the gun and this indeed is an old rig on old ship issue and that boat sailed long ago so I retract my suggestion... |
