It was sometime in 2006 or early '07, I was mining in lowsec (I didnt even yet know this was dangerous - I think it was before the .4 warning or I was new and dumb) when two guys, Arcturus Deathbane and TheSleeper (Yes, I remember the names lol) warped into my belt and ewarred me up good and pew pew, pop!
Anyone remember the first time they were ever killed in a PVP situation? ------------------------------------------------ CCP you are your own worst enemy. ------------------------------------------------ |

I applied and was accepted into a corp on my first or second day in the game, rushed over to where they said their base was, and was promptly blown out of my Ibis (this was 0.5 space, so they essentially wasted 2 Hurricanes for that) because they thought I was an enemy. I was then killed again by them a few days later, in my shiny new Merlin doing missions, because they thought I was a "spah". I then realized that the NPC corps are the only good ones, due to lack of drama.

First time I was killed, I was in an ewar Crucifier in a blob in 0.0. Several bombs were shot into us while we were at a gate and half of us went pop, including yours truly.

The first time I got killed in PVP was way back in 2005 when I started my first paid for account. I'd been in game for 3 days when the corp I was a part of went out to hunt war targets. I got left behind when the main fleet left our home system and had to try and catch up, 40 minutes later and I'm two jumps behind my comrades. On teamspeak the order is given for the fleet to hold steady and I announce I'm about to jump in. Warping to the last gate I find a fleet of 15 ships stationed right on top of it and the adrenaline begins to flow.
Feeling rather nervous I decide to show some bravado in local as the only people there was us, announcing that I couldn't wait to blow up some of "insert corp name here" and get me some pew pew and that the 16 of us would kick ass. A few minutes later my CEO announced that he wasn't going to wait for me any longer and that the fleet should jump through. At the same time 15 more ships landed on the gate with me and the reality of what I had done sank in.
I was sitting, in my little frigate, surrounded by thirty enemy ships with my corp mates about to jump in from the OTHER side of the gate. Not only had I failed to notice that none of the names in local looked familiar, I had failed to notice that I was in the wrong system AND that I had announced to the enemy how many of us there would be. Seems I had gotten the last few jumps a bit mixed up and come in from the wrong system, the enemy noticing I was a noob had decided to "see what happened" and upon my revealing the intentions of my corp had simply brought in more ships.
Before I could say a word to anyone I was locked up, blown up and podded. Less than a minute later I was joined, back in our home station, by all 15 members of my gang. So my first PVP experience, at 3 days old, included a null sec trip and the massacre of my team mates. Understandably it was quite a while before I was allowed on another roam.

New to game, was in a corp and mining in 0.0. The 'guard' at the gate (dead end system) was away tending to a genital blood clot near as I can tell... anyhow there is a ship in the belt then disappears.
I ask the guard, is that one of our guys?
What is his name?
My reply, slow as I fumble around the controls, "Supersarge with, um, Against All Autho..."
Targetted
Wait, what?
My 'guard', putting both hands back on the keyboard, "RUN!"
My ship explodes.
My 'guard' never did reply to me afterwards, I'm guessing he couldn't be bothered to pay attention to local while surfing for goat jpgs.
Crap, no clue what to do, I run away. Not sure where the hell I was going. All I can tell looking back it that I ran for nine minutes before I got popped in my capsule a couple systems away by the same guy.
I was ****ed, heart racing, and 40 jumps from my failed attempt at 0.0 at a noob. The event would be the beginning of the end of that 0.0 adventure. I plan a return someday, but not with anybody I was with at the time.

I went into 0.0 with my brand new Enyo (yeah took me long to venture into 0.0) that I had bought from that Naga shop if anyone remembers :D. Got blown up by a deimos before I even realized what's going on. Was early 2005.

I didn't actually start PvP until about a few months after I started playing. My first PvP ship was a Wolf - as I was training up for one, and had begged some folks in Red Federation to loan me some money (that I soon paid back) so I can buy a Wolf and fit myself into it. At the time, all I was trained up for were T1 fittings, with T2 weeks away, but I was anxious to try my shiny new ship, that was my inspiration to play this game, against some other folks.
Five minutes into my first battle, I was podded. I felt ridiculous after that.
Nevertheless, while I still comment that I want a Wolf to everyone I meet, I've learned that it's best for me to try and get good enough fittings for PvP before I get back out there. -----

I remember another one; I didnt get killed, but the group I was with sure did... We were running in "our" 0.0 space (apparently the guys I was with didnt know/care it was claimed) to go run a gatecamp, in a system leading into 0.0. Imagine the surprise of whoever it was that did in fact own that area jumping in system and getting popped by a crapload of Rokhs sniping them from way off. I got bored flying around in a Kessie while the Rohks were having fun, and decided to go back highsec. I warp out of the area around the gate and the game slows down and starts lagging horribly. Being fairly new, I didnt really know what was going on. Before long its a slide show, and eventually it gets better once I get out of the general area. I have to scroll up in fleet chat, cause apparently when I was lagging **** hit the fan. A "largish" group jumped into the system where the gatecamp was, the guys on the gate engaged the first ships coming through, but they were quickly outgunned and outnumbered. They warped out to the pre set gate but about half of the ships got scrammed and killed, leaving mainly the snipers jumping out. They though they were golden till they hit aw what the hells it called... the ship that interrupts warp well they hit that and found the rest of the fleet that was assembled to take care of them. When they repopped in their stations, I remember one guy saying something like "you know, Ive never seen a capitol ship before" ------------------------------------------------ CCP you are your own worst enemy. ------------------------------------------------ |

Well, first time I lost a ship in PVP: I just got my Retriever and was mining in high sec. It was late and I was tired and a frig came along and flipped my can. so I attacked. Yea, I was _very_ tired. The frig poped my drones then played around a bit and then poped my Barge.
First time I got poded: My Corp was at war and only one WT was online. So we located him and tried to reach him from three different directions. without realizing it, he intercepted me while my corpmates were still several jumps away and his Ishtar fried my Drake and my pod.

First person who killed me (ship and pod) was j0rt (the original m0o corp). Date was late May 2003. Place : Syndicate, somewhere around 8V-SJJ IIRC Ship : Iteron Mark 3
He gave me a chance to run. I was too nooby to take the chance
No clones back then either so I lost the ability to fly the Iteron 3 for a week or so (had bloody awful attributes).

Providence, ages ago. A Coercer bubbled me from 60Km away.
How it pulled that stunt I've never discovered, how a Coercer managed to fit a bubble launcher or you make a Heretic appear as a Coercer on overview I've never discovered either.
Meh.

I just joined a non-NPC corps that got wardecced a day later and my mining Bantam was shot by a Curse near a gate. Wasn't exactly impressed by EVE's challenging PvP. ________________* - If you're in favour of a bloodline change please vote in the Assembly Hall in this thread - |

Heimatar low sec, noob piratess looking for victims. Saw something interesting in a belt, a noob ratting. Getting my Rifter into warp and decending on the (not so unsuspecting noob) I failed to lock/scramble him before he warped out. Unfortunately someone else had also had also scanned down both noobs, so instead of ratting noob he got a hunter turned hunted. -Pop-
I got a victim the day after or so ...

Mining with a Bestower in Amarr after just two weeks into the game. Cruiser flipped my can, and I tried this "steal back the ore while warping" trick that resulted in me getting scrambled, exploded and podded. Such an educational experience.

In 2007 you still had left over descriptions of some kind of pirate missions. You found them in NPC wrecks and they told stories about fabulous prices that where hidden in space. Low sec or 0.0 to be more accurate.
So 10 day's old my first main put 2 logs ands some tags in a shuttle and off he went to said fabulous treasure some 35 jumps away. On autopilot, of course.
He came as far as 23 jumps then ran into a well known low sec pirate and his smart bomb. Got in his pod, docked up somewhere bought a shuttle from the NPC market and flew back some 15 jumps through lowsec, manual this time.
It took him more then 2 years to dip his hairy feet back into low sec.

I lost a cheetah and my pod to a disco raven on the way back from Jita. Fortunately, the cargo hold was empty at the time.
I warped to zero on the gate, saw a bright flash of light, and woke up in a station. I had no idea what had happened - I was so new, my corp mates had to explain it to me. --Vel

First days after trial, I started trading commodities for profit (a great way to make money very early on if you don't mind traveling). Didn't take long til the inevitable happened; I jumped into an 0.5 with my Badger and was promptly alpha'd by a suicide Apocalypse with some Russian at the helm. But I guess the joke was on him since he wasted his Apo for a Badger loaded with Silicate Glass...
My first time being podded happened in W-space when I was a budding explorer and ventured into a hole with a Heron. Back then I thought W-space was completely deserted, so I just sat around a planetary orbit uncloaked scanning stuff, until an Interceptor showed up and blew my ship up. I ran around in a pod for a while chatting on local (yes, I didn't even frikkin BM the entry hole), then decided to just pod jump and had the 'ceptor to do the honors.

my 1st pvp loss ? on my 1st day, on the turorial, on the game since about 5mn, when doing my 1st or 2nd mission i was intrigued by the differents colors of wrecks near me. as anything would be worth something for me (don't forget my only asset at this moment is 1 tritanium :p), i said it was ridiculous to let them be wasted and so took the thing from the guys before me, and nothing happened. so i took the other wreck, it was another color, but well as the one of previous guy did nothing, there were no reason it's an issue right ? 2mn later a big ship appeared and killed my velator.
i learnt later that it was a trap, with some guys wanting noobs tears, making sure to have some of his wrecks near ours, waiting with his vexor, from someone to fall in the trap. 1st loot i took was from another noobcorp member so no issues, and i'm pretty sure he was an alt that didn't cared anyway (if today you can take blue wrecks it was not the case at this time, but the alert message was the same for any wreck) however the yellow one... of course i didn't understand that he wanted tears before a long time, i though he cared about the loot i stole
1st pvp loss on tutorial a few minutes after begining, someone have better ? ---------------- ** Wormhole Trading ** |

Lost in Raravath (0.4) to Mama Painkiller and 1 friends. On 2009/06/14 23:44 hrs
killboard
the first time i died was to mama painkiller and her scrambling friend, they were very professional about it all and actually very polite to me. they explained my mistake in entering 0.4 taught me about pvp and how i could have escaped (the last time i ever panicked during pvp as well incidentally) and generally gave me a brilliant welcome to eve. confused? well they were the perfect examples of good pirates (comparatively) and were so nice it romanticised the whole profession enough to make that what i wanted to do for over a year.
i would love to fly with them someday and partake in their fun, real gents/lady's (never did get that sorted out) and would happily throw myself under their collective fire again :D
