Tech II stuff has been around for quite some time now...why haven't the factions or officers who had such a great experience modifying the old Tech 1 stuff back in the day got around to doing the same for tech 2 stuff.
It seems like there are a million variations for tech 1, but if you want to use a tech 2 module, there's one choice.
Of course the only real necessity for this that I can think of is turrets. If you want to fire Adv ammo, there's one type of turret, and one only to choose from.
There may be other attributes that only Tech 2 modules offer, but right now only advanced weapons come to mind.
I just thought it was about time to see some RSS Tech 2 Autocannons, or Caldari Navy HAM II's, or whatever... I don't believe in signatures, not even really cool ones like "This signature intentionaly left blank" |

Could work.
Increase the optimal or fall off for less damage for projectiles? Or faster tracking perhaps? It would make things pretty interesting.

If anything, it would drive down the cost of "normal" Officer mods and T2 Officer would take their price point.

Makes sense. I don't see peeps paying 20bil for a single turret be it a capital mod.

And yet people already pay absolutely stupid amounts of isk for a few percent improvement here and there. Gyrostabliisers, for example. Damage with no gyro...100 Damage with Gyro II...110 Damage with RSS Gyro..112.5 Net gain...2.2% cost...75mill But then they add a second and even a third one for a rapidly diminishing return. Here's a better idea. Instead of making Faction/officer Tech 2 modules, make T2 Capital modules.

OK, show me all the elite PvP players using Faction AC's on their Vaga's Or the ratters running there Tengus with Deadspace launchers? Once you can fit Tech II weapons, your choices cease. The same cannot be said of ANY OTHER MODULE IN THE GAME. My POINT is, if I want to fire Tech II ammo, and I do, I have ONE choice of launcher, whether it fits into a neat Meta level or not is irrelevant. What is the point of having weapons with nifty stats that fail to fire the best ammo type available?

The point is to have a game based on player production instead of raid drops, a game without gear dependency.

Bottom line - its all about meta. Or you are suggesting having meta 15-20? As faction + tech2. Or we should call it -> ultimate weapons, or epic gear? OFC they would WTFPWN everything if that other isnt equipped with such gear as well.

I don't know about you, but I regularly see people with faction/deadspace pwnboats trying to be the champion of solo PvP die horribly in flames when they meet the realities of PvP on TQ.
