Ok, I pretty much dismissed this POS idea after surfing this forum and seeing the costs for just operating one. However, in light of the coming patch which supposedly is supposed to reduce the operating costs of a POS and an idea I recently had I'm debating the POS possibilty. But I have a few questions...
1 If I want to setup a POS strictly for refining purposes what is the minimum and recommended modules to do this. I was thinking a control tower and intesive refining array would be the minimum - but my experience here is zero.
2 With the tower offline and subsequently the modules offline (but everything still anchored), can I still put ore into the refining array?
The only way I could see a POS for refining purposes feasible is if I only online the POS when I need to refine. And I need a method to store the ore while the POS is offline. A can farm would probably not be a good idea. If I can't dump the ore into the refining array while it's offline then might there be another module that can store this ore until I online everything?
Any suggestions or further ideas welcome. Thanks for an answers in advance!

My suggestion is that once you go ahead you let me know where you anchor your pos...I'll nip around and collect your minerals and probably the whole POS itself... since once anchored but not online anyone can access the POS modules etc....and unanchor the stuff and leave with it :P

are you mining ice in empire or in 0.0 if 0.0 then your want a normal refinery to do the ice (you get 100%)
you want at least 6 or so weapon system
and if their rare moon material it's also worth mining in a silo to sell
Corporate Hangar Array can store stuff off line good for ore they have 200,000 m3
offlining a pos = bad idea

Like I said I have zero experience here - I only know what I've read. And what I've read made me believe you can setup a password after only anchoring the tower. And I only assumed a passworded POS acted much like a secure container in that it can't be accessed without a password (or authorization). If anyone can take your POS when it runs out of fuel then it would be too much of a hassle to have one. ____________________________________________

Add a crop hangar array to the mix. It has 200,000 units capacity - the same as intensive refinary. It also works whilst not online
