My problem is connected with the ECU output calculation. Let's say I run 1h cycles and in the ECU info screen it says the output per cycle is 16000 units. Volume of single unit is 0.01 m3 thus total output per hour is 160 m3/h. When I click on the link connecting this ECU to another building, I see that its occupancy is 300 m3/h. Shouldn't it be equal to 160 m3/h? The effective, observed ECU output (amount of resources I actually get from the ECU) is equal to one shown on the link. Am I calculating this wrong way? For processors this calculation works fine. I checked my every ECU and those numbers never match.
That's a bit confusing since basing only on the ECU's output I don't know if link's maximum capacity is enough to transfer all resources. I have to submit program and after a while check occupancy of the link, if its equal to its maximum, upgrade link, then check again... |

Edited by: Breaker77 on 19/02/2011 01:32:48 Build your setup, then hover your mouse over the ECU. A popup will appear over the links showing the percentage used. If it's less than 100% you are fine.

Well yes, however that's not the most important problem. I like knowing how different numbers are calculated.

Sadly, the PI numbers are almost unpredictable.

Yes, I agree, but this should be true only in case of the ECU's output cause we don't know the planet's exact resource distribution (I mean exact numbers), depletion ratios etc. So we don't know what will be the effective output without placing the ecu. However when we start the ecu's program then we know exact output in units per cycle in each of the cycles. This should be easily conversible to m3/hour. The actual output of the ECU is visible on the nearest link occupancy. Since it doesn't agree with the output calculated based on the ecu's output per cycle I assume I'm not calculating it correctly or it is bugged and we are waiting for a patch. Which one is true?
I'll give you a real example of calculations: 10118 units per current cycle, cycle length is 1 hour, 1 unit volume is 0.01 m3 thus the effective output for this cycle: units per cycle * volume * cycles per hour: 10118 * 0.01 * 1 = 101.18 m3/h
And when I click the link connecting ECU to launchpad -> capacity used is equal to 282.64 m3/h! WTF??
