I have it up and running "semi well" still got some issues with the data refreshing but for most part it is up-to-date.
Anyhow, check it out now before others buy all the good deals. Lots more to come, tonight I will be working on some of the documentation and website details.

Hmmm... it appears that I MUST register and create an account to do anything.... Not a chance. B-bye, have a nice day.

Hmm..one thread isn't enough... I smell a fraud. Could CCP have people checking stuff like this? Just for security and all.

Yes, please check it out. There is nothing wrong, in fact exact opposite. Registration requires a name, password, and unvalidated email (as stated in first post) And; in fact my first post was about the original application. This post was after I put in more hard work as well as $100 in domain name and hosting to make it available on the web.
And of course, 3 of the 4 total posts are ****y people who didn't even bother to check it out before flamming. Whatever, I hope you don't use it to be honest. You don't deserve any rewards from my hard work.
Anyhow... enough attention for the attention seekers. Anyone who has actually tried it has any positive feedback, or at least constructive criticism, please feel free to post.
Tonight I will be putting up some pages to describe the data system and how to get more accurate data as well as the overall PI strategy the application is designed to accomodate.

I'm don't mean any harm, but the "route" you are taking here with also the other thread isn't really...how could we put it...building confidence so to speak. Also the attitude you have isn't really helping the matter. We are giving you constructive criticism about blindinly trusting a program that requiers registration. You are basically telling us to sod off when we raise questions about safety.
I did check, I didn't register and raised questions about it. You had a different approach in the other thread and even then you left some pretty important questions dangling in the air. Now you are taking a different route and telling people to stop asking questions and that makes us itchy.
Hey, the program might be marvellous and completely safe and so on, but mate...you ain't building any trust this way. You have more or less just written 200 words about it and half of it is denying answers and telling peopel to trust you. See?

I understand your point; Dr Sheepbringer. Sorry if my tone seems a bit harsh. Certainly not my intention. I am a programmer for a living so I fully understand people being cautious as I certainly am. However I don't post about "suspecting" a bad site, especially when I haven't even tried something. Think of it from my point of view, all the first comments are negative, and if it IS REAL (and it is) it is not only a negative impact on my desire to continue, but also on the chances of anyone else trying it. But anyway, I'm not wanting to dwell on this stuff... You seem sensible and I think you will actually end up liking the application... who knows.
Here is a user/pass for you (or anyone else) to try it out who doesn't wish to create one. All I ask is you post some feedback... or at least comfirm it exists I guess? TestUser / TestPassword
I now have a brief explaination up on the homepage as to why the register/login. Remember, it's a 3 day old site, I don't know many people who could not only build that much of a site, but alo port a desktop application to a web application in 3 days. Tonight I have sign language class so I may not get as much update done as I would like. But I will try and explain the data process.

intresting site and useful if you dont personnally extract just process.
what would be intresting if i could enter some of the stocks i have as p1 and get it to work out what could be process from them and which would at that point in time give best return.

Ironically, that was the first version of the application I wrote for myself. So I could enter what I had on hand, and it would tell me what I could make and for how much I could sell it. Saved me tons of time having to look at prices, I will see what I can do to revive that piece of code.

This my friend is perfect example of marketing and building trust. I would personally somehow "limit" the test-users abilities (don't want people to only use the test user...but then again...why do you need "users" anyways. You only need visitors for ads and such (just thinking about making real-life money).
As for feedback. I like the overall functionality of it. Simple, does what it needs to do. As for UI I would do this:
Replace the current listing with the data:
Buy + Buy = sell
With something like this:
Buy Buy Sell
So than you don't have scroll sidways too much.
Also for example: Profit Amount 308240.80 ...No. Make it: Profit Amount 308,240.80 isk (see, it's Eveish)
As for the progam itself. Looks good to me, but I'm no programmer or enough of an industrialist to really go into depth. At least for my simple PI it's the right stuff. Good work.
For making all this "private" in time. Make sure you check all your corners on that. Will you have users that will pay? Will they pay in money or isk? Will isk cause problems with Eve Eula and such. Basically think if you want ingame currency or real currency. Will this violate something. How about donations, will they cause problems.
Adverts and such are usually ok in any scenario, but getting anything from them (other than paying 5% of the domain costs) means A LOT OF USERS and I don't think the whole eve even has that many users who actively do PI. As I said, check your corners.
Ps. I do webshops for a living and teach designing websites. Not the coding part (well sometimes), but the designing of the "service" that is the website. |

Excellent, thank you.
Visual: Crisp and clean, very nice.
Feedback:- Don't scroll column headers vertically with the list
- After logging in add a tab for the calculator to allow navigation back and forth.
- Leave user logged in until they navigate away from the site. Currently going to the Home page logs you out. ("Keep me logged in" option typically negates timeouts not navigation logouts)
- Display "No Results matching criteria" when such is the case (i.e. Min qty = 1 mil)
- Changing parameters and running a second query doesn't seem to be working well.
- Display numbers with commas i.e. 1,000,000.00
Thoughts:- How about including an option to match location for Material 1 and Material 2? Or a column that indicates that they match?

Excellent posts guys, I will start getting a list together of issues and enhancements. I have the idea of a free user that will show limited results without the ability to refresh data (explained on site more later)
As far as money vs isk profit... my "vague idea" is that the site would have a free section, limited to the display of lower profit rated trades. While a/my corp would get the high quantity, high profit rated trades by logging in. Then I can get both the isk (from corp or system) and the ad revenue from the free section and login (not corp pages though). I've got a ways to go with that decision though, as it could mean having to write my own data collector like EVE Central has done. I also am not really interested in trying to run a corp...I'd rather implement this process for the other tiers of commodities. Anyhow, im late for SCRUM. later
