Killboard: http://bds.eve-kill.net/?a=corp_detail&crp_id=24688
"There are varying degrees of evil, we urge you lesser forms of filth not to push the bounds and cross over, into true corruption, into our domain. For if you do, one day you will look behind you and you will see we three. And on that day, you will reap it. And we will send you to whatever god you wish."
- The Saints -
Mission Statement: The Boondock Saints will PROSECUTE contracts with select clients in Highsec space with a view to facilitating corp PVP, generating revenue and operating as a functioning mercenary corporation.
Concept of Operations:
Intent: To provide an efficient and tangible result to our patrons within the Heimatar and adjacent Regions.
Scheme of Manoevure: By utilizing a small number of specialist pilots we will fulfill small pvp contracts within the following arcs.
a. Destroy, Disrupt, Clear tasks - Destruction of target assets, attacks against target corp operations [mining, missions], complete and aggressive elimination of target characters resulting in their abandoning of a given area. b. Fix, Interdict, Isolate Tasks - Blocking of supply routes, harassment of mission hubs, mining locations, wormholes, denial of enemy freedom of movement within a given area. c. Intelligence Preparation of the Battlefield - Intelligence, Surveillance, Targeting, Acquisition and Reconnaissance. Provision of information on target assets, ships, patterns, history, associates, locations. POS locating and reporting. d. Escort, Guard, Secure, Screen tasks - Convoy escort, perimeter security for mining operations, scouting for fleet actions, covert manning of ambush points.
Main Effort: Efficiency. There will not be a lot of idle talk, you will define the effect you want created, we will create it.
End State: Client objectives have been met in a timely and satisfactory manner and The Saints are released to prep for subsequent operations.
Coordinating Instructions:
a. Locations - Based in Heimatar, we will assess contracts outside of adjacent Regions as they are offered. b. Costs - Clients are responsible for the cost of the declaration, additional costs will be a function of the contract being discussed. All fees will be paid up front, once agreed upon. c. Contacts - Regicyde, either in-game mail or a private conversation. Public Channel -The-Saints-, feel free to join should you have further inquiries. d. Recruitment - we are always on the lookout for additional members. e. Disclaimer - The Saints are offering a professional service with predefined mission objectives, should you prove disingenuous with your request, any contract obligations on our part will be forfeit.
"How far are we gonna take this, Da? The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far is as needed?"
- Il Duce - the Saints -
Much obliged for your time - Looking forward to working with you.

Let me try to analyze the level of fail, in what will be a scathing commentary, but also a useful criticism.
I think for this, we need bullet points.
* You identified your regionwide restriction. Anyone you war dec, will simply drive away. You just lost.
* You have only one contact person. Fail. Not only will people be chokepointed trying to hire your organization, but will be critically limited in providing ongoing information
*Your clause regarding what actions a client may take which would render the contract null and void is rather ambiguous, and ominously suggestive of a scammer. If you have acquired the money for a contract, and the client has paid you the amount you requested, what actions could possibly give you the excuse to then keep the ISK and refuse to do the work. No respectable mercenary ever does this. If you take the ISK, you do the job, or you give it back.
There are some other issues, but smaller than those. A final note, the name? Boondock Saints? Seriously?
Don't make a post and use a quote from a movie that is intended to indicate that you have the constitution and determination to go the distance, and then qualify the statement by saying, "as long as it's near Heimatar."

Much obliged for the post.
Appreciate the constructive criticism. Thought I'd take the opportunity to address your concerns.
a. Only Heimatar: A preference really, here is the excerpt from the add addressing it. "a. Locations - Based in Heimatar, we will assess contracts outside of adjacent Regions as they are offered"
b. As we are just starting, a single contact point was decided upon, should a client enter into negotiations, other personnel would be made available as required. This is an effort to streamline the contracting process through a single point of contact. The inclusion of the general channel allows potential clients to converse with any online member of the saints.
c. The intent of the disclaimer was to take into account circumstances where the client reneges on any of its contractual obligations, thus freeing us from ours. As, in our estimation, this could take a myriad of forms it was decided to leave it as a general comment. No comment was included about absconding with a legitimate client's money. Humbly, I would suggest any merc corp that made a habit of doing that would quickly find it was no longer receiving work.
d. As for concerns about our dedication, etc, hopefully we can convince you otherwise as we process contracts and generate satisfied clients.
Good hunting.

Edited by: goroo on 27/03/2011 12:05:02 I contacted Regicyde to harras and disrupt my target. The contract is now leading to an end and i must say i am pretty impressed and satisfied, which direction this conflict took. Target spent billions of Isk to dodge the war via Alliancecreation, hiring mercs by himself and after all he lost more than half of his employees.
The contact to Regicyde was really smooth and comfortable. If things change, you can be sure, you'll be updated as soon as you log on. Thats the kind of service i like to spent ISK! So, if you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the... wait a second... you found em... so
JUST HIRE EM!

But seriously brah, you should have picked a more original name... Because ripping off a movie isn't very original.
But on any note - good luck in your contracts mate. |

Regicyde was very professional and stood behind his contract. They are well organized and uncharacteristically effective in their tactics. Researching before the contract is even offered. They should be charging much more for the service they provide. Luckily we suffered no casualties nor did they. This is not your typical merc corp, very professional.
Thanks again, you guys offer training?

These guys are complete crap.
They are unable to complete any significant contracts, no matter what time frame you give them.
The cons:
They are rarely even on. Their numbers are tiny. They ignored contracts to join Orphanage, then left again. They will take your money and then ignore your contract. They run every time.
One of the worst of the new mercs. I don't even know how they rate a spot in the Merc Contracts channel.

Not having had any dealings with you in-game, I thought I'd take the opportunity to address your concerns in the interest of professional courtesy.
1. They are unable to complete any significant contracts.
The Saints have completed a number of contracts before and after our very enjoyable stint with the 0rphanage, the positive reviews above I think speak to that rather succinctly. We definitely endeavour to restrict our contracts to smaller targets in light of our more compact organization. Since we began, there has only been 1 contract we were not able to fulfill. It was a contract to track and locate a number of wormhole corporations for a client. We devoted a substantial amount of time to this operation but were ultimately unsuccessful. As any mercenary will tell you, you just can't win them all.
2. No matter what time frame you give them.
This is largely dependent on the client but we've actioned contracts within minutes of the agreement being decided upon and continued work for weeks without fail. 3. They are rarely even on.
Our hours are dependent on our work schedules and, being a corp with older members, the demands of successful careers and fulsome personallives prevent us from being on 24/7. That being said, as one of our above reviews indicates, we are quite capable offocussed operations to blocade targets in their stations for hours at a time.
4. Their numbers are tiny.
While this is open to interpretation, our membership is small and restricted to more specialized pilots. That being said, we have a healthy spectrum of experience that I think suits us well for the contracts we accept.
5. They ignored contracts to join Orphanage, then left again.
I was forced to turn down a number of contracts when we joined Pitboss in the 0rphanage, and each prospective client was briefed when this was the case. One of the sacrifices in becoming a part of an energetic merc alliance that we made gladly. When the corp membership decided that they wanted to return to the world of private merc contracting, Pitboss was more than amenable to us leaving and we did so on good terms (I believe I paid alliance dues for the week we left ahead of time)
6. They will take your money and then ignore your contract.
Again, there has been only 1 contract that was unsuccesfully completed. In this case, the client had paid a 20million isk deposit. When this contract was unsuccessfully completed, the client was refunded the 20 million isk no questions asked. I would reiterate my point from the advert in that it is bad business to abscond with a client's isk and any mercenary corporation that made a habit of doing so would quickly find itself out of work.
7. They run every time.
While again, tactical discussions are inherently a bad idea because everyone has their own style, in my experience most of the griefing corps we are contracted to operate against choose to avoid direct confrontations. Again, that being said, I would suggest that any mercenary corporation that expends its ships needlessly would find itself less than profitable. Engaging or avoiding a fight is largely scenario dependent, and I've never been in the habit of fighting fair.
In the end, all of our clients bar one were extremely satisfied with our work and despite the disparaging remarks made by our targets from time to time, The Saints keep things professional and courteous.
As ever, thanks again for your continued interest. The contracts continue to come in.

I was the person that hired The Boondock Saints to war dec Shoulda Checked Local and I was very happy with what I got for my isk and I will hire them in the future if I need a merc corp. I highly recommend The Boondock Saints. They seemed like the most professional mecr corp I talked to for the best price.
Let me start off by address the comments from Sesquipedalophobia, Tysinger, and Commander Wilson Kime, . All those people are in Shoulda Checked Local or an alt and they are just trolling. Do not believe anything they said and as far as I could tell the members in Shoulda Checked Local had a lot of free time on there hands to make those post because they where being station camped.
I also want to help anyone who has not hired a merc corp before and explain how it all works. The first thing is there are a lot of people that say they are a merc corp but are just scammers. There is an EVE channel called ôMERC Contractsö join that channel and there will be a list of honest merc corps and merc alliances that are not going to scam you. Send an EVE mail to one of the corporations on the list asking them for help. The merc alliance are going to be too expensive for you, most likely. If you are still worried about being scammed just ask for a payment plan where you pay some isk up front and then some each day for the duration of the contract.
The next thing is what kind of contracts do mercs do in EVE. Well you can find a mecr corp to do anything, for the right price. The main thing they do is high sec war decs. There are two main types of war dec contracts. One is a fixed amount each week to war dec someone. This type of contract is best if you want the target corp to stay docked and not flying around in EVE. This is the contract I sign up for which is why the kill boards donÆt show The Boondock Saints getting any kills on Shoulda Checked Local. The second type is a pay per kill (PPK) contract where you pay a percent of the ship cost they blow up. For example they blow up a drake of the target corp you pay the merc corp X percent of 30 million. (I think X is normally 100% but not sure.) So if you are just ****ed off at someone and want to do as much damage to them as you can then the PPK contract will be the way to go. If you just want them to stay docked up them the fix amount each week is going to be the way to go. The reason is if you do the PPK then the mecrs will let the target corp undock and fly around so they can get a kill and get paid.
The other thing The Boondock Saints offers (at least I think he offers it) is to FC for your fleet with his guys if you donÆt have a great fleet commander. This is something I wish I knew about when I fist started to play eve. When I first started playing EVE I was in a few corps that had the fire power to fight back but no pvp experience. If I had hired The Boondock Saints back then we could have fought back and learned a ton about pvp. Instead I learned about pvp with a bunch of ship loses.
Again I highly recommend The Boondock Saints.
