Hi
IĈm a person with very bad eyesight and I love EVE Online a lot.
I have less then 10% eyesight left in optimal conditions but the problem there is only one place in DK with these conditions, in reality i have 7-8% eyesight left when IĈm not being tested under those condition.
So my problem with EVE is that the UI canĈt be scaleĈd like in other MMOĈs for example WoW and Star Trek Online, these games I play a lot.
So my suggestion for new feature in the game i UI scaling for us who has a bad eye problem.
Anyone with me on this?

One option is to get a 30" screen and run it at half the native resolution which is 1280x800.
Tbh, I'm amazed how someone with only 10% eyesight can use a computer at all.

iirc there is an extra point in font size available in game now, introduced in one of the recent patches. It is quite a bit bigger than the previous 'largest' one.
But yes many people are looking forwards to LUA implementation.

You could also try Windows' magnifier tool from the accessibilities folder. I've never tried it to know if it works or not, but if you run the game in a window it might work.

I'd go with the big screen on low resbut after looking at your portrait which is also blind I think you might be another troll...

Pardon my naivety, but what exactly is 'bad eyesight'? Surely a good ol' pair of glasses does the trick? But seriously, I don't get what it is :|

Get a big CRT and play at minimum resolution, alternatively, as stated before, run a TFT/Plasma at half it's native resolution (and fullscreen).
I don't think a scaling UI would work well with Eve. The UI already uses a huge amount of space.

Equality is the biggest downfall of modern society. We shouldn't be pandering to the weakest members of society, we should be expecting everyone to deal with their own **** and pull them selves up to the level of others.
See: Dumbing down of modern media as an example.
If I don't understand something or found something difficult, I would go off, learn more about it and try again.
If I had poor eyesight, I'd find myself some way of viewing at a lower resolution, be that on a larger monitor or otherwise.
I wouldn't drag everyone else down with me.

Equal rights doesn't make people equal except under the law.
I knew a videographer who was blind. Did everything with sound cues. I would try for the biggest monitor I could get and then lower the resolution.

When I look at all these replies I think that people might be stupid, or just can't understand other people's handicaps and look down at the people with the small problem.
I love this game and a lot of you say lower RES and bigger screen! My problem with this is that i already run on a 27" at low Res already, but why should I sit with bad RES,. I already have glasses made for better screen viewing they cost 3000 USD they are 13+ in strength so all you who don't have some good or constructive to say, STFU because you properly don't know what you are talking about. So if you think I'm week for having a handicap I can't do anything about that I havn't already again STFU, by criticizing handicapped people you do not contribute to society in my eyes even if they don't work as well.
i don't Seek special favors I just think if UI scaling would be in the game some of us might play it a lot more, because it's a great and fun game.
Sorry for the some what harsh language.

The Eve UI versus people with poor to terrible eyesight has been a long standing issue, and one that has been brought up more than once. It is also one that CCP has not shown a lot of interest in solving, for whatever reason. The issue may lie with the fact that Eve is, has been, and most likely always will be a niche game, and there simply aren't enough people using it with those preconditions to justify the resources necessary to make the changes.
That said, have you looked into getting a screen magnifier? I don't know that they make them in a size for a 27" monitor, but it may help bump the size up enough for you to play comfortably.

Tbh the trolling here is pretty weak, the UI needs an overhaul for high res monitors
