Not sure if those are in game graphics either or renders but it looked pretty decent.

Planet, with or without ring and some cool panoramic textured sphere / box for the backdrop. Eve needs more atmosphere, I think the ship designs in eve are better but I just wish the environment was a bit more fleshed out.

Posted - 2011.02.24 01:20:00 - [13] Its and instanced 1st person shooter a la Freelancer, The graphics are nice, the gameplay reminds me of Freelancer without the ability to turn of yer engines. Its however no competition for EVE, the gameplay isnt anything like EVE nor has it the depth of tactics or the modules/ships/skills ect. If your looking for a Freelancer clone it may do something for you but thats about it.

What I'm really interested in is good game play and good graphics, Mass Effect 2 was a very good example of both however lacked the immersive MMO aspect. Things I like about eve online include variety and depth. mathematics and killer scale. There are always things to do and train for next. I am missing the graphics though, the character creator is sweet but now I wish the game caught up to that more.

It IS however heavily instanced, bugged, and very very twitch based until you figure out AI has no random pathfinding when in dogfights. Then it just becomes boring and a grind for resources and gear to put on your ship. Even the appearance of your ship doesn't really change when fitting other wings or engines or whatever. Only slightly. The pvp instances are just a killing ground for people with lvl 30 everything againt lvl 6-7 noobs trying some dogfights. There's no death penalty either and instant respawn (as long as respawn works). I'm hoping it will expand in the future and that they actually focus on the online game and not consoles.

The only thing it has in common with Eve is space and space ships. Eve is a far better game.
