I wish to mine ladar sites in C1-C2 wormholes. I dont want to risk using a battlecruiser for this since I would be going straight from hisec and it would look nasty on my killboard. So I was planning on using a exequror because they are so damn cheap and have a larger cargo hold than any battlecruiser. Would this be worth my time or fesible y/n? Also do I have to clear out the sites of some sort of rat first?

On most wormhole ladar sites one wave of rats warps in a few minutes after the site is first spawned (someone warps to it). After that wave is down no more come. It's worth looting and salvaging these ships.
The Ordinary Perimeter Reservoir site spawns with 5 sirius towers and I expect that they'd barbecue your mining Exequror rather quickly.
I would strongly suggest a mining battlecruiser so you have 5 highs for gas miners, a high for a cloak, a high for a laser optimization link and a high for a probe launcher (some BC's you have to sacrifice 1 or 2 of the utilities). You can fill the lows/rigs with cargohold expanders/optimizations and shield tank.
Biggest problem may be finding an empty hole, especially if you're going in from high traffic empire. I've tended to have more luck going into c4/c5 and just running the perimeter/frontier ladars that spawn there as those holes seem to be occupied less often.
Actually mining the gas (check out c32/c50) is decently profitable however when you factor in time to find an empty wormhole and scan down the sites it's much less so. You'd probably make more isk running level 4's unless you were quite lucky.

Rats spawn about 20mins after a site is triggered, ( warped to uncloaked) and you will only get 1 spawn in what ever site your in.
If you have gas harvesting 5, you just need to make sure what ever your in has 5 turret slots avaiable.
Battle cruisers are better for clearing the sites, you can solo clear anything up to a vital/instumental. as for time the best site to solo would be a Bountiful site, gas price is about 64 mill, and will take you over an hour give or take, assuming you have level 5 ------------------------------------------------ Manchester meet, Sat 19th Feb 2011 Join Ingame channel Manc-meet

You really should be far more concerned about having the right ship for the job than how it's going to look on a killboard.
If you can I would recommend having an alt available to haul for you. Just a simple hauler with a few thousand m3 of cargo and a cloak will do. Then you can use a proper gas harvester, like previously mentioned. Get your Gas Harvesting skill to 5 and use Harvester 2's. The jump you get in your harvesting rate is worth it, since you'll also be able to use 5 harvesters. You're not going to run into very many unoccupied C1/C2's (if any) direct from high-sec. So you want to harvest as quick as possible.
Aside from that, be aware that you can earn money faster hitting any of the anomalies you find in there. So is it worth your time? That question means you are considering Opportunity Cost and the answer is no. But can you still earn isk doing it? Yes.
