Currently in a Covetor, was going to move up to a hulk, but upon comparing, I'm not sure it's worth it. Both can fit 3 strip miners. The difference in price tells me that I must be overlooking something.
I normally mine in empire, jet canning and transporting with my orca.
So could someone tell me what I'm missing, What will the hulk give me that's worth the price tag?
I know it's a noob question but my mind is blank. Thanks.

EVE is a game where people will pay billions for that extra few % points of performance, the price difference between a covetor and a hulk is actually quite small for double the cargo and much better resists.

Honestly, any miner worth his salt must be plying his trade in a Hulk. There simply is no alternative currently in Eve.
What you will be getting is the additional 3% bonus to the yield per level of the Exhumers skill (or 3% reduction in ice harvesting time). On top of that extra 15% (because any miner worth his salt will not only be flying a hulk, but will have trained it to Exhumers 5), you will be getting a much bigger cargo hold, much better resists, and more importantly, will be able to fit two mining upgrades in the low (without needing a Gypsy Implant.)
I can assure you that you'll never look back.

Be sure to research the few effective tanking options for Hulks. Even in empire, threats exist (especially right this second due to Hulkageddon). Don't leave your Hulk unprotected!

Think my first Hulk was about 600 million isk, don't know the prices now but it#s a fraction of that I think so the price of hulks is pretty nice and especially for the gain.

I make 200 to 300 million isk a night mining in Ostingle low sec one jump out of Stacmon. There is. only one belt so pirates totally skip hunting that system. Get a buddy to bring an orca and you will have a blast.

The hulk's bonuses to ore are just too good. Astrogeology 5, Mining 5, Mining Barge 5, all stack on top of the Hulk's bonuses.
