From all around the universe we gathered. We slept, ate, showered, even used the bathroom together; all to prepare for our final race.
Through hard work, great teamwork, awesome communication, and a deep pocket book, we excelled ourselves to the finish line.
Thanks to all that helped us win. Eve is not a game, it's a community.
Special personal thanks to NAGA loot shop, as they helped me to prepare by suppling me with items and ships to test at my will. Cha'mone!

I'll take this oppertunity to thank all team members (I love you :) as well as the event team. ;)
PS: People would be ashamed if they knew when we have met and got everything sorted *g*

Any insight into how you managed it so quickly?
I'm guessing you sent two pilots to each WP or similar?

Aye it was an impressive performance indeed.
Good tactics and co-ordination it would appear, gj.

Wiyrkomi did the two pilot teams to each waypoint thing; unfortunately, our team for the Tenal waypoint was caught by a node failure in Empire space and this delayed us by about twenty minutes while pilots were retasked. From what I hear, Lai Dai didn't catch any blackscreens and so beat us by about ten minutes.
Second place team grumblings aside, though, Lai Dai did nicely indeed. Congratulations to the crew -- especially Alia Ursul for taking both a Raven and Rattlesnake, and Feral of Drink Starsi for claiming a win on behalf of our corporation.

[ooc] actually, we had our fair share of client problems. I had a node crash so i had to relog back in, another guy had a map bug where it wouldn't close and therefore had to relog. One guy crashed multiple times. We lost both pilots headed for waypoint 4 (but after a bit of coordination managed to get the items and continue). To top it off we also only had 9 racers, 10th never showed.
So, don't think we had it as smooth as anyone, and we might have been very well coordinated, but i'm sure others were just as coordinated or better. The difference is lady luck smiled on us. Hats off to all racers, including the ones who sacrificed winning the race to try to gank a few. I'm very proud of everyone [/ooc]

(A lot of teams also got pilots caught in systems with stuck gates, that is to say -- and right-o on the other client problems. It being a Sunday and a new record having been set for pilots online... but that's neither here nor there. The important thing is: congrats on the victory! You lucky, lucky sods. And I swear I'll give back a Raven if you'll just let me take it around the block for a spin....)

Yeah, that was me
Node death and couldn't log back in. Had to file a stuck petition. Great and quick response from the GM who fixed it asap. Only took 20 minutes, but of course during the Race those 20 minutes really hurt.
Great work and coordination from Lai Dai, Congrats guys. Also great flying by my Wiyrkomi teammmates in improvising (taking over waypoint 5) and still ending second, was an honour the fly next to you (or at least try to)

The same thing happemed to me some jumps from Obe. After going to waypoint 1 with Alia I headed to waypoint 5 to support your Teams 5 (well Team 5 consisted of one pilot ;).
I was one of the first to reach the empire system were people got stuck and jumped back and forth between those system at least 5 times (I said this in race-private aswell). But I ive tried to take a small detour (Morkt (Team 5) followed there aswell) and this solved our problem. So we were the first to reach Waypoint 5 (I think).

oh yeah, all hail the atreides (or astares) stargate that refused to jump. our (hyasyoda) pilots tried it 10 minutes, then took the detour. very annoying bug.
i think that big nod crash held up most teams (8 out of 10 of our racers ctd'd) but that gave the thing some extra spice.
the only annoying thing was the reikuku pilot at WP 4 (i remeber seeing proximo and bsspewer all the way up there in local and then there) who shot down pilots at the can. Because the can was borked to lag and took very long to open it was impossible to do so in a ceptor without getting shot down (staying long at the same point is not good if you got a mega pulse coming from the rear ;D), so BoB guys clearly had the advantage of just saying hello and passing by to grab the logs :) But well, we in FA had our fun aswell (although this was more or less random ganking, nothing really important), but tbh the race shouldn't have ended in an alliance territory, something like new caldari would have been more spicy and fair for everyone.
I think up till waypoint 4 we've been quite nicely on Lai-Dai's tail (we used the 2 pilots per WP tactic aswell).
Anyway, congrats to the winners, you really earned it and have fun with those ace ships ! Thanks to the Event guys, nicely put through, although with some bits and pieces that could've been better. And last not least, kudos to my team ! Ace teamwork, ace communication, ace organisation (thanks Ki !)

I want to thank all the members of Lai Dai team for a good race. And of course the race coordinators and sponsers. It was very much a Team effort, that is the way I play and I loved it. Winning the race was a big bonus.
We had our share of combat and "technical" difficulties. But bsspewer and Deovina where esp great. Thanks guys. Nice flying with you. Much of the race went as our Wiyrkomi frends have posted. Mind you we raced with 9 ppl - not ten. Thanks to FA and G for making my heart beat a little faster in a few places.
And to bubbles - I have some PiE for you. [CENTER] To live is to game - in some way

So uh, who was the individual winner? I think we can take it as red that Lai Dai was the corporation winner, but who actually won the race? -----------------

Yeaahh! I can't believe you guys made it. You are awesome!
I totally lost the focus of the race (the qualifier took too long)... shame on me .
None the less, I assured to give the a reward to the three first runners. But since you did such a great teamwork I would like to offer all of you an extra reward. Give me 14 days to get the rewards in place. I will contact you via evemail with the offer.
You made me feel proud to be in my corp :-)

Well, Alia Ursul was declared as the first to cross the finish line. But the thing is we did not cross it individually. We meet up in the last system w/ all items, transferred them back and forth, and the first team of five actually crossed the finish line all at once and together.
We discussed the race before it started stating that the race would be won as a team, and if anyone did win the individual wins they would be shared. Alia WAS fast, and congrats to her for being declared as the first to cross.
