And if so how would that experience compare to your experience of eve in 2007-08? how infected you've become :( this is an unchill question. you at least deserve a proper reply but i'm pretty O_o to see such a lame one from you one does not "force" gameplay on goons; anyone can vote with their feet/log out/move to a different corp at any time. the premise of your question is like that of the tri idiots, a la 'when did you stop beating your wife'. a huge portion of goonswarm never bothers with fleet ops and we don't do or enforce mandatory ops what you refuse to accept is that so many goons enjoy grand wars of their own volition; perhaps the tiny bitter schism that went to pl (our most hurfy, elite pvp k/d ratio badposters) has convinced you that there was some kind of ~oppressed masses~ or somesuch laboring under the grim rule of the ~dire***torate~. another reason why the question is dumb and unchill is that there have been many periods when goonswarm hasn't faced an existential threat. in fact, the vast majority of our time in the great war - exception being that first few ugly months when BoB pushed us back into 9-98 in 07 - has been spent with us on the offensive carving space off our enemies. the defense of querious at the end of delve ii was entertaining but hardly an existential threat, plus we won it handily vOv Sins of a Solar Spymaster: my ~fair and balanced~ column TheMittani @ Twitter

You were presented with difficult questions and you went to my alliance history to find a way out of answering them. Childish move for any interview, foreign policy or internet spaceships, a sad move no matter how hard you try and spin it. So what questions would you answer from an ex-TRI without getting all emotional about it? Here, I will reword the question above to be as direct as possible; When will Goonswarm break away ties from the Northern Coalition to survive on its own? If there are no plans, why? Perhaps General Windypops can reword or whatever and ask you for his actual interview. Maybe then you will answer some instead of pulling the alliance history card as a way to equivocate the questions.

This means, but is not limited to, holding sov, retaining moon resources and building infrastructure. it depends largely on how many rules and restrictions you put on your definition of 'independence'. before dominion it was entirely possible for smaller entities to carve out a small home for themselves 'solo', particularly in space that larger entities didn't care about. dominion introduced the upgrade mechanic, abruptly making every single bit of nullsec worth fighting over if upgraded, and thus you see previously uninteresting space held by mostly-independent entities (ev0ke in cloud ring, cva in providence) getting mowed over by blocs the tri types will argue that even ev0ke isn't independent; they have some kind of fantasy where in a game of politics, war and diplomacy, you can survive on war alone without getting bent over a table, and that since they can't have eve in a pure realm of k/d ratios they just won't bother with sov at all. essentially that they are too cool to make friends and allies. vOv so what counts as independent?
