With the last round of patchs my backup computer no longer will boot EVE. When I try and open the game I get the message "The procedure entry point GetSystemWow64DirectoryA could not be located in the dynamic link library Kernel32.dll". I have heard that there is a work around for this since XP is simply a prettied up version of 2000, but so far I have not managed to find a good "how too" thread. Any help would be appreciated.

So you are using Win2000?
Win2000 is no longer compatible to run EVE, new operating systems change more than you think. ------------------------------------- The system issues man. |

Specific fix to your problem:
1. Download the OCW Wrapper Pack (post by author)
2. Go to your windows\system32 directory, copy kernel32.dll. Go to eve\bin directory and paste it there. Rename it kernel32_ORG.dll
3. Extract kernel32.dll from the wrapper zip to eve\bin directory, where you just placed kernel32_ORG.dll
If that's all you're missing, eve will run. If it doesn't, here are some more comprehensive instructions
Good luck

Ok I used the Wrapper pack and got past the pop up error message, however now the spash screen comes up and after a few seconds game closes. I used the program indicated in the link listed to try and see what is still being required but although I added another .dll which was needed, I don't seem to be able to get past that point. Unfortunately I need to leave the data intact on that computer, so either I need to figure out how to do a dual boot on that machine or how to load XP in such a way that it does not format and destroy existing data and programs.

Found another thread with the splash screen then game closeing complaint and tried thier suggestion even though it was for XP and other operateing systems and it worked. Basicly downloaded a new set of libraries. http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/KB961894/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=2067 So far so good.
