the answer is simple: Dev lazyness. Jump Gates could ve been positioned better.

Did you try with a sun? I'm very interested in the result.
Just to be sure.. have a third party observe.

That doesn't really make sense (well, Dev lazyness certainly does)? You fly through nothing if you use a jump gate. He apparently used his 'impulse drive'.

When celestials are right in between two jump gates (you need to warp to reach the next gate), then the jump gates have been placed wrong. Same goes for stations and so on.
Would be nice to see your ship getting a double warp travel when things are between you and your goal. One to a corrected spot, where nothing lies between you and the next point you are wanting to warp, and the second one which is going to be the one we alredy know.

There are 6 types (or flavours) of quark; up, down, top, bottom, strange, and charm. Each particular combination of quarks constitutes a particular hadron, for example a proton is made up of 2 up and 1 down quark, and a neutron is made up of 2 down and 1 up quark.
I think the real question is, what's strange up bottom?

Totally wrong.
The calculation on two spread sheet entries performs the haversine formulae to evolve theoretical distance.
Once resolved, the graphic is kicked in to translate the given image from the start point and the destination.
The math exists in both places at the same time.
The display is updated and shared with any obervers or impact references.
simple.
Its all done with spreadsheets, it aint real.

Well thats just because the planets surface hasn't been rendered yet silly!
I did look up light-speed through a vacuum and in a "perfect" vacuum light only went 1.0003 times faster.
But yeah the nano-bots and off speeds, I see that I have a lot of holes in mine as well....but hey a guy can try right?

Edited by: Ipene on 28/02/2011 01:52:18 Edited by: Ipene on 28/02/2011 01:50:18 I like the explanation given in the original Star Wars role-playing game. Same as on Wookiepedia
But I'll settle for the explanation that it's a damn video game that's made to keep things simple and developing a need to actually plot a warp course around objects every time would not be fun after the novelty wears off.
Why not add fuel for every ship to the game? Why not actually force you to hire crews for your ship and pay to feed and cloth them? Why not make you feel the hangover of waking up in a new clone by forcing your account to log off for 10 mins? Do pod pilots get married and reproduce? Can pod pilots not only walk in stations but theoretically walk on any solid surface? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop?
