This I agree with. The Amarr should be able to field the best kind of bling: Tech 3s. The Legion may look like bling, but it performs like a plastic Rolex.

A 3B Uboat+implants/combat boosters +boosting/probing alt can will always be at the right distance and when it does not it's not much of a problem.
But requires 3+B fit +HG pirate implants/strong combat boosters/booster alt = :effort: (+/- 6B)

Considering the, by comparison, MUCH higher cost of losing a T3 when compared to a T2, I'm hesitant to call the effect that the T3 has on the T2 variants for their roles obsolescence. I'd be much more willing to lose a cerb in a PvP match than to risk a tengu where I lose a very expensive ship and even a skill that I've presumably leveled to five in order to optimize my tengu.
