As leaked in various websites, at the upcoming CSM election youÆre about to see the single biggest powerbloc Eve's ever known launch a cynical, deliberate and manipulative attempt to seize control of the CSM. The Northern Coalition and their partners Goonswarm are no longer content with managing most of 0.0. (and the hundreds of billions of isk they receive weekly). TheyÆre now conniving to take control of your council. Theyæll use the information gained under Non-Disclosure Agreement to wheedle every possible in-game advantage, exploiting the privileged access to safeguard their own political interest. Worst of all theyÆll almost certainly succeed. The NC and Goonswarm will use massive block voting (carefully co-ordinated between member corporations) to ensure this. TheyÆll have tens of thousands of votes available at the drop of a hat, and squash out strong minded independent candidates like me. IÆm going to make some predictions about what weÆll see in this campaign. * Numerous NC / Goon alliance leaders standing - leadership types, not 'average Joe' members - to ensure that their players toe the line while voting. * Slick spin doctors and media manipulators attempting to present their takeover as æthe mavericks against the establishmentÆ. NC / Goonswarm no ARE the establishment, and to pretend otherwise is now ludicrous. * Wheedling between these candidates, meetings behind closed doors, to steer the campaign * Organised forum campaigns to smear opponent candidates It canÆt possibly be good to have a single group controlling all the assets in game AND the mechanism for influencing the devs. ItÆs therefore, with a sense of duty, that I stand for CSM. Primarily, my purpose is to disrupt the 'jobs for the boys' mafia taking control of your game. However I will also take the opportunity of candidacy to champion: - Zero tolerance stance on Botting - A major 'community' refocus within eve - enabling app development, social media tools, and open architecture. - Revitalisation of empire warfare I'm also committed to representing the voice of the silent majority in Eve. Unlike most candidates I will not be representing any one alliance, political view or self-interest. I will be encouraging the whole of the Eve community to vote for what THEY feel is most important. So you admit, then, that your entire candidacy is an attempt to thwart Goons and the NC and not because you feel you have anything to add to a discussion of the game's future. That's kind of shallow, don't you think?

It is a job interview. RL examples are kind of pointless, because it's the internet and I can make stuff up. For what it's worth, I'm a departmental manager for one of the UK's largest firms, and management responsibility for several teams and about 20 individuals. Managing the politics and personalities of the corporate world is, sadly, by bread and butter. In the virtual world, I think my greatest success in convincing people who don't agree with me to see things my was was my phenomenal campaign to get Sons of Tangra to reimburse Hurley's titan. It just hasn't happened yet. I was also the mastermind behind the 'Bee Gone' campaign to rid the game of Goonfleet. Judge the success of that for yourself. Because, you know, disclosures are limited under the terms of the agreement. The idea that they'd expose themselves to lawsuits to gain a superficial advantage in internet spaceships is absurd.

The key point here is that it is the LEADERS of numerous allied alliances who are looking to stitch up the CSM. The 0.0 factions wield a lot of power and historically they have been well represented in the CSM community. Secondly, Eve needs new subscribers, these subscribers will initially spend a lot of time in Empire so its important to have a CSM who is willing to look after Empire interests. Finally, I support the development of more open-interfaces within EVE. A player-based developer community would be a major asset to CCP and citizens of Eve and should be encouraged.

They've been actively recruiting like this for some time; with no more requirement, than 1 Million SP. I know this, because I have been attempting to recruit for a month for an alt corp; and my recruiting campaign's worst competition, is Nullsec Corp's, that have access to the most valuable resources in the game. Rather difficult, to offer something; which can compare to that, overall. They even put alt's into your corp, or recruiting chat; to snipe the guy's, who might be interested. A member of Goonswaffe told me that, I think; in a rather candid moment in recruiting. It really is quite disappointing; seeing a corp grow to 7 members, and drop to 3 in a couple weeks. Most of those lost were kicked; and the other was a Test Alliance spy, according to his old CEO. He dropped inside of 5 hours. So... will they really be in highsec?
