The game is now, old. Very old. Still some cling to the fact that they own all, they beat all. New players, how are they to compete against old farts who got their 200mill skill point characters in 0.0, either shooting eachother up for kicks, or boring themselves to death.
It is time now to shard the game up into several worlds, so others can have the chance to own without the same fossils having a gang bang.
That way, you can bring back the fun in drones (several drones to control instead of just 5 max is fun), lag fest will be over, and fleet wars of over 500+ will be lag free.
No it is not risky to shard the game, it is a sane choice.
I know, it was a beautiful thought that everybody should be in the same house. But the place is starting to stink. It is time for the game to evolve, or continue rotting. |

Theory: As CCP continue to break and remove the "cool" stuff to fix :lag: the old players quit and are replaced by newer players living in an ignorant bliss not knowing about the "good old times" and therefore sharding is unnecessary.

I will actually respond to this just to be nice.
SP does NOT equal pwnage. There is only so much SP you can dump into a ship until it becomes ineffective.
Case in Point my Pure PvP alt who has about 9 mil SP can absolutely demolish Sam (who is a PvP/Indy) almost every single time. She is about to get in a carrier (not fly it well, but get in one) and Sam can barely fly a battleship. This game is not about SP amounts but where it is located.
If a newby spent two months training to be a ceptor pilot he would be one of the best out there probably just as good as someone with 200mil sp

I think it is a good idea....not several...but to 'shard it' every few years.
Of course, many will be against this because they are top dogs and they know that once a game shards then new players will go to the new shard and they won't have fresh meat anymore. Their shard will wither and die over time.
While many will consider that a terrible thing...I think it would be a breath of fresh air.

For your toon yes. For others it will make Eve better.
Housecleaning needs to be done every few years :)
