I killed a russian retriever some time ago, he threated me with the russian Mafia :<
Though, if i attack someone and they die in a stupidly ******ed way, i tend to give them some fittings tips, its happened a few times, and i still talk with some of those guys :)

I'm not a great pvp'er... In the years I've been playing, I've lost far more ships than I've managed to kill and that ratio will probably remain that way. Thing is, I take every loss with dignity... I always like to chat with the guys that shot me down before I head home with my tail tucked between my legs. Not "smack" by any means, I'm just sure to let them know I enjoyed myself, loss or no. Chat about fits, tactics, what worked, what didn't... what surprised us about the engagement or just made us "LOL" in general. Pilot to pilot, a "handshake" of sorts after a gentlemanly (or womanly) duel.
Thing is, in most cases I get a response along the lines of "props to you for taking it so well", like they're surprised I didn't emorage about losing my precious. It's like this... I bought it, I fit it, I undocked it and I took it into harm's way. What right to I have to be upset that someone got the upper hand on me? The answer is: None.
So I lost a half-bil Loki last night. Oh well. I'll buy another one and lose it too. Or something t2. Or something else just as expensive. **** happens... welcome to New Eden. I just don't get how most folks react to losing... yeah it's dissapointing for all that work to go down in flames, but if you stop for a moment and pay attention to that feeling you got when **** started going down, that rush of adrenaline, racing pulse and sweaty palms... that, my friend is why I play this game. And win or lose, nothing beats that feeling.
So fellow pilots, is dying with some goddamned dignity a lost art in New Eden?
Don't be fooled this is a tears post! ahhh... delicious tears .

This is why people post like this, to hide their lovely tears!

to me showing dignity in pvp losses/wins is a case by case thing. Like if i had a good fight with someone be it 1 v 1 or maybe even 2-3 v 1, me being the 1. I will say something along the lines of gf, point out my flaws and say maybe next time lol. But like if someone lured me into thinking i was having a 1 v 1 with frig or cruiser, then ganks me with 20 of thier corp or pulls out a BS after i take thier stuff, they get no good response from me lol. If you cant honor what you claim to be bringing to the table, no dignity or respect is needed or showed.

That's because most people expect you to be as big an asshat as they are, and it ****es them off when you're not because it makes them look like idiots.
Don't worry about it. You're probably doing fine.
This.

This attitude is probably a result from people dropping RPG from MMMORPG. You are in a virtual spaceship simulator, and *shock and suprise* people RP. But I agree, if things get to much for you, I advise a break once in awhile.

It's called projection which also involves empathy; mostly lacked by people with psychopathic tendencies. Bet you were the kid that liked to use dirty tricks in sports while the teacher wasn't watching, EVE has a tendency to collect those.

Thanks for the constructive replies... I love you guys, really.
Well it seems that "dignity" isn't a lost art here, though the value of such varies from pilot to pilot.

Perspective? That's what I was offering and asking for. Pity me for actually being civil about losing my internet spaceships? I'm not sure I follow your logic.

Does a internet space ship hold as much significance as a human life?
Just curious.
