I have grown accustomed to how Guns train and Missiles. I have also thought of the stuff mentioned in this and other threads. So not complaining.
I would maybe suggest to simplify the gunnery skill tree a tiny bit. Example: Current: Small Hybrid Turret Small Energy Turret Small Projectile Turret
Change to: Small Turret
That's it, everything else stays the same; the support skills & requirements, the specializations.
So basically if you have trained up the "turret" skills all you need to access the T2 Guns is to train the appropriate specialization.
Probably going get flamed for this.
Just a thought. I am training energy weapons anyway, so won't bother me if this idea is rejected. My Signature is too large... O_o |

having over 120m SPs, I have excellent skills with Missiles, Drones, and all three gunnery types. I'm familar with all weapons.
It was not always this way, For a long time, I was a Laser user.
Even when I had lower SP count, I always understood two things:
Making all weapon types "fair" is insanely STUPID. Moronic beyond words. You are a damn IDIOT if you are thinking in terms of "fair". I said this THEN, and I say it now: Pick a weapon type, stick with it till you master it, then cross train, and NEVER whine, not even things really are 'unfair'. AGAIN: I said this back when I only used one weapon system well, and still say it now. It was true then, and always will be.
"Fair" is the ultimate in whine.
Secondly: Making all weapons the same is BORING. Making them so they have SIGNIFICANT differences, that affect how to best use them, makes for a BETTER game.
Play nice while you butcher each other.

Originally by: MinHui hello fellas,
i ve got a question. If i want to use for example T2 Large Railguns, i need to bring the following skills in front of that:
They suck, train T2 Large Blasters
Guns can do 0% - 100% damage and then more due to wrecking hits Missiles can only do 0%-100% damage uʍop ǝpısdn ǝɹnʇɐuƃıs ʎɯ ƃuıpɐǝɹ ǝɹɐ noʎ |

Because lets say you train T2 Medium Lasors, You now have... 1. Focused Medium Pulse Lasor II 2. Heavy Pulse Lasor II 3. Quad Light Beam Lasor II 4. Focused Medium Beam Lasor II 5. Heavy Beam Lasor II
Now lets say you train T2 Heavy Missile Launchers, You now have... 1. Heavy Missile Launcher II
That should explain it for you

I think that missiles get boring and everyone will end up wanting to use our supreme lasers anyway. Training missiles is just an unnecessary detour.

This post is a question about the difference in the "skill trees" of Guns and Missiles. Nothing more. Nobody said it is unfair or anything to that effect.

I have read the thread and never was it mentioned that the weapons be made the same. If however you are referring to my post, read it again.
Actually, read it all again. You seem to have misunderstood some of the responses in this thread. My Signature is too large... O_o |
