Can you fly a carrier in high sec because all of the ones for sale are in low sec. Thanks in advance.

NO you cant, they can only be built in low or nulsec and the only ways to move them aare the jump drive or a jump bridge, neither of which can have a highsec system as a destination

With the exception of Freighters, Jump Freighters, and the Orca... no. Capitals are essentially restricted to 0.4 and lower systems.
The ONLY way around this is to buy a capital ship that was made in high-sec before the restriction was put into place. However, this is no longer possible as the sale of such ships has been recently banned by the GMs (and even if was still possible the price for those things is ungodly high and there are still restrictions for their use). _______________________

If you need to ask you probably shouldn't be flying one, to be honest.

That ******ed reasoning always pops up when it comes to capital ships, and it's as ******ed as ever. Sure there's people who it applies to but in most case, and this one, a genuine question doesn't merit a dumb idiot answer like that one.
It's like "How should I fit a raven for lvl 4's" and answering "well if you don't know you probably shouldn't fly one". You know what? Let replace this whole newbie section, including the help channels ingame and any youtube tutorials with "IF YOU DON'T KNOW, YOU PROBABLY SHOULDN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!!" in size 128, red color.
Dumb, ******ed meme answer.

It's quite obvious with capital ships as they are often a corp asset, though a lot common asset then they used to be. So people asking about flying carriers on forums are: a) Those with too much ISK b) Those without a corp/alliance that could support a one in the first place.
For either answer you shouldn't be buying a capital but then again everyone loves a capital sized loot pinjatas in their killmails and you'd be surprised how easy it is to kill a lone carrier.

Not the point, The OP asks a genuine question without going "lulz, I'm 1 week into the game and want the biggest shipz and I'll be in a Nyx in 4 months, should I shield or armor tank it, also what's a hull repper". Non-idiot questions deserve more than stupid meme replies.

I kinda agree with Cygnus here. For all we know the OP was simply looking at carriers on the market and noticed they were all in lowsec, so came here to ask. This IS the place to ask questions afterall. --------------------------------------------

Agreed. This forum is supposed to be more tolerant of questions.
Capitals* are not allowed into hisec. I think there is a backstory about a Titan that passed close to a planet and disrupted the ecosystem.
Any capitals in hisec are from the early days when they could be built there at a POS. This is no longer possible, and any capitals in hisec are governed by strict rules.
* Technically freighters, jump freighters, and the Orca are capitals, but are allowed into hisec. They are all small enough to fit through a stargate, unlike other capitals. More importantly, they are all unarmed.

I would argue that they are "sub capitals". A capital ship requires the skill "Capital Ships". Although freighters and the Orca require capital ship parts, and "Capital Ship Construction" they can still use jump gates, they don't require the capital ships skill, and are significantly smaller than "true" capital ships.
With that distinction between ship classes, it's possible to make blanket statements along the lines of "Capital ships can no longer be built in hisec, and any that exist in hisec must only be flown with non-military fittings, and cannot be sold."

Except that in this particular case, the OP is most likely a stealth troll that is fully aware of everything already.
In the unlikely case the OP is actually a genuine player (I really, REALLY doubt it, but you never know), the correct answer to his question was already provided in post #4 in this very thread. _

Akita... I know this is a bit on the late side... but every time I see your avatar I SWEAR I'm looking at a childhood friend I once knew (only grown up). It's getting kinda creepy. _______________________
