Hello,
After being surprised at the cost of a freighter I took a look at the price history in Amarr and it looks like they went up almost 200 million isk over the last 3 months??
Could anyone explain why this has happened?

Just look at the prices for the used materials and you will see why.

And there is any special reason for this mark-up for the used resources to build a Freighter? As far as I know there hasn't been a drastich change ingame like a patch, ... to influence this?

Nocxium exploded (+400%) at the end of 2010, because 0.0 supply has been nerfed. And there has been some Trit/Pyer peak the last weeks : Trit gone from 2.8 to 3.2 (+15%), due to Hulkageddon (among dozen different reasons, I agree). ____________________________________ Fulbert Industrialist - Casual Trader EVE Online, the best browser MMO of them all |

Could also still be a residual increase from the removal of Learning skills.

Mineral prices are up currently, high-sec asteroid fields are crowded everywhere. It should go down in some span of time.
I'm planning to buy a freighter also, Charon prices went up from 790mil to 810mil in 1-2 days :S

don't forget that the smartbombing way of doing CAs in the drone regions has been nerfed.

Beat me to it. I'd peg this as a major cause, and one that can't be changed. It's a permanent drop in mineral supply.

The point is that high sec belt are mined as much as possible. I don't think there are belts untouched in high sec. My opinion is that we have maxed out the low end minerals production in high sec. It is improbable there will be any notable increase of minerals production from high sec belt. So the prices will go up with stop and go, as any mineral will move to be the next bottleneck. First it was mexallon, the Isogen, then Nocxium, then pyerite and tritanium. Now, after Hulkagheddon, there will be more tritanium available at lower prices, but this will cause other minerals to spike for the added demand needed to build ships and other stuff. The main mineral, IMHO, to go up, will be again the Nocxium and the Isogen (produced mainly in high sec and from recycling - now nerfed). This will go until the value of minerals countaining Isogen and Nocxium will go up and will surpass the valued of Crokite. Then the miners in 0.0 will start to mine them and ABC.

There are tons and tons of belts in highsec that are never ever mined. I know of a few 0.8 systems that have almost all +5% and +10% ores including loads of pyrox that are never mined and are always really fat rocks. The catch is they donÆt have any stations, not much of a catch unless youÆre a macro or really lazy. Of course highsec mining sucks and gets maybe 10M an hour even with the high nocx prices.

edit : A Providence with decent ME (Main BPO ME2, all components BPO ME5) needs 210,000 nocxium to be build. 210k nocxium, ancient price : 21mil ISK, new price : 115,5mil ISK. So +90mil ISK...
I am just curious here:
1) I though it was because of the new ship that Nxium went up. 2) What exactly was nerfed in 0.0 sec? 3) We still get like half of minerrals from reprocess salvage in high sec. 4) Why only Noxium got hit in price? Why other raer minerals did not go up? Something is not making sense.

The recent war against the IT allaince destroyed a number of caps and supercaps/ titans. This had a much more serious impact on the ore markets than hulkageddon.
Incursion also played a part but im not at all sure how severe that actually was.

1. Nope, Nocxium producing ores have relatively low payouts in 0.0 or the have low output in HS. 2. I heard it had to do with the Drone regions, who knows 3. Yes, though Nocxium doesn't seem to get produced a lot through reprocessing considering all the ammo it is used for. 4. HS doesn't produce enough and in null other things are more lucrative to mine. Currently Crokite is the 3rd most lucrative ore to mine in 0.0 according to http://ore.cerlestes.de/index.html#site:ore I imagine that it is sometimes passed over for Morphite due to local T2 production.
Economics, simple economics, you grab the stuff that pays the most first and right now the high yielding ores for Nocxium only give the highest price in HS with pitiful yields or in LS where you are likely to meet your doom. In 0.0 you pull all the Arkonor and Bistot from the belts and if you have time/inclination then you might grab the Crokite.

Could you suggest these systems? I have a corp mate with 3 Hulks and one Orca that whine about not finding good enough belts. Suggestions would be apprecited.

the drones in "Drone Horde" anomalies (sanctum equivalent) would all spawn & fight at very close range - this did enable "people" to use battleships/carriers with a whole rack of smartbombs and blaze through the sites amazingly fast.
Now the drones spawn at range and allegedly alloy drops have become a little worse and CA respawn times a little longer.
There are also some problems with spawn triggers not working reliably but that's probably just a bug.
