Ok... so the Noctis is a pretty cool looking ship from an Industrialists perspective. But is Salvaging really a profitable venture or a waste of time? I was thinking of using one to Salvage Belt Rats Wrecks and mission wrecks.
Any insight?

Salvaging is profitable, but whether you really need a Noctis or not is debatable. It saves time, especially in larger missions with lots of loot to go with the salvage. For belt rats (assuming hi sec?), just use a destroyer. For lvl 3/4 missions, the time savings may be worthwhile. For W-space, the time savings can be crucial, since you want to get out as quickly as you can and the salvaging success rate is already lower.

That really depends on how much you could be earning if you didn't stop missioning or ratting so you can loot & salvage. If you're making 50Misk/hr steamrolling missions, then slowing down to salvage is likely a waste of your time. If you're doing well to get 10Misk/hr from running the missions, then looting & salvaging those wrecks would probably be a boost for you. If you're ratting faster than the respawn rate, looting & salvaging will keep the isk flowing while things respawn.

1. Opportunity isk. The loot can have something like heavy arbalest launcher. You do not salvage, then you can miss 20m isk income in a right away sale.
2. Manufacturing isk. You need to have researched bpos and skills for recycling loot and manufacturing popular t1 rigs and popular t1 ships. Lv4 missions against drones are the only source of morphite in highsec, if you intend to throw some invention and t2 manufacturing to boost this way your income from missions. Inventions and t2 production means more skills, but you get free datacores from r&d agents. Pleasant passive isk income.
3. Pirate stash. Although loot is t1 modules, you can stash some worthless t1 junk for lowsec pvp. Imagine your merry band of "wanna be pirates" in t1 ships get snuffed by huge blob of piffats desperate to fulfill their weekly killmail piffat quotas. Can you imagine that bitter chat when they loot and salvage your ships? -- B=g, Honor, Nar=d. Semper Fidelis. Nec Hercules Contra Plures. |

I haven't used a Noctis yet, but from what I understand it seems to excel at mission salvaging - Tractoring and Salvaging a good handful of wrecks at one time.
I don't see where it would have much advantage for belt rats since if you didn't kill the rats you can't tractor them.
I don't believe you can mount launchers or guns onto it can you?
Be careful wormhole diving with this. Sleepers change targets frequently, so make sure you have a good omni-tank. Or stay away from the site until your mates clear the sleepers.

If you diligently salvage all wrecks, and train an alt to mfr rigs, pretty soon you'll never have to pay to rig a ship again (at least t1 rigs).
And you'll be able to experiment with changing rigs without worrying about the cost.
Med and Small rig BPO's are relatively cheap, and really don't need to be researched as the savings in materiel is not that significant.

Depends really. If you have a designated salvaging ship it doesn't take much time when properly fitted.
