Hi,
Something weird going on. I did reinstall WinXP on my PC. All HW is exactly same as before, didn't change a thing. But after reinstalling EVE client only splash logo what I can see. Splash appears after some time it goes off then in process list I can see ExeFile process and that's it, nothing. If I start repair tool - nothing starts either. What could it be??? An yes with fresh WinXP installation I did install latest drivers for audio and video. All other devices in PS are working fine. And this message I'm writing from same PC so internet and rest works without problems.

Originally by: roxi I launched eve with 'run as admin', that seemed to do the trick for me.
That or lucky timing. (:
Try this, worked for me.

This worked for me : --------------------
run the C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP\EVE\LogServer.exe launch the EVE client in the log server check for any error, that might give you a clue.
I had an error saying that the carbon engine cannot find : C:/Users/../AppData/Local/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility/cache//Pictures/Portraits/bak_portraits
(When I created my new avatar, I kept a backup of the pictures in /bak_portraits) C:/Users/../AppData/Local/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility/cache/Pictures/Portraits/bak_portraits
I just moved the folder elsewhere and it worked.
I might be easier to just clear the cache completly, but I'd try the LogServer.exe first.
I hope it helps, good luck

DetCord Saisio it is not anything like those cases that you linked. Because in your cases you do have some error messages saying something - in my case I have nothing, literally nothing. Just splash window pops up for some seconds and after this nothing (no error messages, no complains). Same with repair tool - doesn't start silently.

Hi, I have experienced something very similar; the difference was that the repaired started, did his job, but could not pass the splash screen anyway. After reading similar posts, I have tried to instal the DirectX from the directory with the same name that you find in the Bin directory. Then I received an error related with framework (initializing framework...something error). I have deinstalled frameworks 4,installed 3.5; run the Direct X installation from the game directory, and it worked. After I was sure the game is running, I have put back up the frameworks 4 version. hope it helps

Had an enormous ammount of problems with clients just simply refusing to work, after working fine for sometime, have gone back to .Net 3.5 and it's working fine ... so far, will not be going back to 4 unless i'm either forced or client is lulling me into a false sense of security and will fall over in the near future.
