Now that players can build their own outpost components I need to know if those components and the egg can be manufactured in 0.0... can anyone answer this for me? |

the egg is the actual outpost "anchorable structure" -- IIRC you anchor it, and then fill it with all kinds of goodies (mins, PI goo, etc). Wait one (1) DT for the egg to be replaced with a new outpost.

Security level doesn't matter, but they can only be built in a station.

Just for clarification to others, it has only recently been made possible by CCP to manufacture station components (e.g, Station Construction Parts, Station Hangar Array, etc), ourselves as they used to be NPC parts.
My question was: * Can they be manufactured in 0.0 (I had outpost in mind - worth asking as they are 100,000 m3 each) * Can the egg (slang name for the construction platform as it looks like an egg) final assembly also be carried out there?

To my knoledge answer to both question is yes. They can be manufactured in outpost.
After egg has been assembled you need to launch it to intended system and dump tons more of materials on it and start final assembly process to make outpost. But egg itself can be assembled in any outpost or npc station.

Not wanting to sound like an ass, but as the costs involved are quite high... have you actually done this or are you assuming it can be done?

You could go on to Sisi and kick the process off on there were its effectively free to confirm.
As far as I aware the code behind station and outpost manufactoring slots is the same. Its only POS's that have different limitations. Macrointel, the place were the nature order of the universe does not hold sway. Pirates and ore thief's are congratulated by carebears for the actions. |

This may be a seperate topic, but the time bonuses or effects of a POS adv lab are like .65, and the regular labs are .75, does this mean jobs done in the adv lab will take longer or shorter amounts of time?

Advanced Labs are not used for manufacturing, only for copying, material research, and invention. Additionally it's only the copying that is .65, ME and Invention are .75.
Yes, .65 will complete faster than .75
There is a Rapid Equipment Assembly Array (used for building things that mount onto ships) that has a .65 time multiplier. But you pay the price of 1.2x materials (i.e. 20% additional materials).

having built egg's in the past - yes - they can be built at an outpost [and station] , just not at a POS [there is no egg building array] --

Yes, if you can dock and there are manufacturing slots then you can build the egg.
